The Blue Riders to Bring AFTER PEOPLE LIKE YOU to Classic Stage, 12/11-14

The Blue Riders will present Jason Pizzarello's (When I Had Three Sisters with Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab; Saving the Greeks: One Tragedy at a Timewith Push Productions) post-apocalyptic drama, After People Like You for a limited engagement, December 11-14 at the East 13th Street Theater(Classic Stage Company, 136 East 13th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue).

On Her Shoulders will present a staged reading of The Years Between by Daphne Du Maurier, directed by Mary McGinley and edited by Susan Jonas. The Play in Context, a special component contextualizing the script in its historical time and place, will be delivered by Dr. Jonas at the top of the evening. Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, in association with Staci Levine, will present Tony Award winner Mandy Patinkin and acclaimed actor/performance artist Taylor Mac in THE LAST TWO PEOPLE ON EARTH: AN APOCALYPTIC VAUDEVILLE, a workshop presentation with direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, and music direction by Paul Ford, for a strictly limited engagement from Saturday, December 14 thru Tuesday, December 31. Performances of THE LAST TWO PEOPLE ON EARTH: AN APOCALYPTIC VAUDEVILLE will be presented at the Abrons Arts Center (466 Grand Street, NYC).

At First Sight (and Other Stories) is a 90-minute compilation of some of their most celebrated works mixed with vignettes created especially for this production - written, directed, and featuring the company of BKBX- each piece designed to take the audience on a journey from epic fantasy adventure to the intimate and very real moments of everyday life. Weaving comedy and drama through the show's fabric, At First Sight (and Other Stories) will entertain as well as enlighten. The show runs Todays - Saturdays: November 7 - 9, 14 - 16, and 21 - 23 @ 7:30 p.m. Matinees: November 9, 16, and 23 @ 2:00 p.m.

The Award-Winning Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) has announced the world premiere production of a (mostly) non-violent, romantic comedy by Sandy Rustin's (Rated P [For Parenthood]) THE COTTAGE directed by Adam Dannheisser (Rock of Ages, resident director/performer). THE COTTAGE will play a three week limited engagement at Good Shepard United Methodist Church, 30-44 Crescent St (@30th Rd), in Astoria, Queens. Performances begin tonight, November 7 and continue through Saturday, November 23. Opening Night is Saturday, November 9 at 8 p.m.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced today that acclaimed avant-garde performance artist Justin Vivian Bond will star in the company's upcoming new production of Bertolt Brecht's A MAN'S A MAN as Leokadia Begbick, canteen proprietress (a role originated by Brecht's wife Helene Weigel), beginning performances Friday, January 10 at CSC (136 East 13thStreet). A MAN'S A MAN will be directed by Brian Kulick and feature a new score and new songs by Tony Award-winning composer Duncan Sheik. Kulick and Shiek collaborated on last season's production of Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle at CSC. Tickets for A MAN'S A MAN will go on sale December 12.

The Irish Repertory Theatre continues the eighth season of its Reading Series with Ray Sipherd's play Mathew Brady Presents on Friday, October 25 at 3 p.m. at the Irish Repertory Theatre's W.
