Brian d'Arcy James to Perform with Clarke Thorell at Birdland Tonight

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to present the club's debut of Clarke Thorell in Songs I Wish I'd Written for one night only, Monday, August 5 at 7pm. Broadway's Brian D'Arcy James will duet with Thorell.

ROLEX presents BROADWAY & BEYOND! Celebrating Theatre & Dance - Career Transition For Dancers' 28th Anniversary Jubilee on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 7pm at New York City Center, 131 West 55 Street (btwn. 6th & 7th Ave) NYC. It will be followed by dinner at the Grand Ballroom at the Hilton New York. Joining the show is Liza Minnelli, winner of four Tony Awards, an Oscar, a special 'Legends' Grammy, two Golden Globe Awards an Emmy,and the recipient of the 2012 Rolex dance Award. Liza is one of the entertainment world's consummate performers. She stated, 'It will be an honor for me to present this year's 2013 Rolex Dance Award to the incomparable Ann-Margret at Career Transition For Dancers 28th Anniversary Jubilee.'

American Repertory Ballet, New Jersey's preeminent ballet company, voted NJ's Favorite Dance Company in the Jersey Arts People's Choice awards, is delighted to announce its 2013-2014 Season of performances around the state. Season highlights include three major productions: the premiere of Artistic Director Douglas Martin's Romeo and Juliet at State Theatre in New Brunswick, with live music played by the Rutgers Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Kynan Johns; ARB's 50th Annual Nutcracker Season, which will span five weekends at theaters across NJ and include a “Celebrate the Legacy” reception; and Night of Fire, a program featuring the premiere of Martin's Firebird and the company premiere of Kirk Peterson's Afternoon of a Faun, at McCarter Theatre in Princeton. The 2013-2014 season will also include brand new works by American choreographers Mary Barton, Trinette Singleton, and Kirk Peterson and revivals of works by Ann Marie DeAngelo, Patrick Corbin, and the late Gerald Arpino, Joffrey Ballet co-founder and choreographer.

The producers of I Forgive You, Ronald Reagan, the new play by John S. Anastasi, in which the present is on a collision course with the past, present the limited Off-Broadway run this summer. Directed by Charles Abbott, performances began at The Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Aves.) on Monday, July 15. Opening Night is set for tonight, Tuesday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m. The show is scheduled to play through August 25th.

New York City Center is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Fall for Dance Festival with a very special season, beginning with two free evenings of dance at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, hosted by The Public Theater, on September 16 and 17 (rain date, September 18). The Festival will continue at City Center from September 25 - October 5 with performances by 20 acclaimed dance companies and artists from around the world, including three new works from today's most exciting young choreographers, commissioned by New York City Center in celebration of the tenth anniversary.

Gigantic Floating Art Installation 'in orbit' by Tomás Saraceno Presents Special Experience in Düsseldorf

An installation of steel wire and transparent orbits transforms the wide open space under the dome-shaped glass ceiling of Düsseldorf's K21 museum into a surreal landscape reminiscent of a sea of clouds. The installation called 'in orbit' by artist Tomás Saraceno creates three different levels. Brave visitors are invited to access the installation and move across the nets and in and out of spheres. Their movements cause vibrations - like in a spider web - which, combined with the lofty heights, create a fascinating spatial experience. The installation is now open and currently planned to remain on display until Fall 2014.
