Just last night, Broadway's elite gathered to honor Ted Chapin, president of Rodgers & Hammerstein (a division of Imagem), at UJA-Federation of New York's Theater Division 2014 Excellence in Theater Award Dinner. Among the attendees included Tony Award nominees and Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella co-stars Santino Fontana and Laura Osnes, and Billy Stritch, Grammy-winning composer, musical director, and performer. Eddie Izzard will bring his massive Force Majeure world tour to Memphis, TN at the Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, May 25th at 8:00 PM. The tour will visit 32 cities through the spring with more dates to be announced later this year. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, February 4. VOW is an inaugural and extremely ambitious musical theatre workshop being presented by the Marymount Manhattan College Musical Theatre Program (Pat Hoag Simon, Coordinator for Musical Theatre) and The Directory Of Contemporary Musical Theatre Writers (David Sisco, Founder & Curator) that opens wide the creative process of the Broadway musical theatre industry to twenty very fortunate musical theatre students currently enrolled in Marymount Manhattan College's progressive Musical Theatre Program.

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of Laura Marks's powerful new play Bethany. Directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, Bethany will run today, Jan. 25 - Feb. 23, 2014 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Making his 54 Below debut, Joshua Henry (Porgy and Bess, The Scottboro Boys, American Idiot, In the Heights) will perform Broadway standards and his original songs under the music direction of Jason Michael Webb (Motown The Musical). Accompanied by Mariand Torres (The Comet of 1812) and a four piece band, Henry will present classic Broadway love songs and motown hits, as well as his own never before heard original music - all spun with a soulful twist.

Minneapolis Musical Theatre's (MMT) madcap and lighthearted look at love, Five Course Love, makes its Twin Cities debut today, January 24-February 16, 2014 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's New Century Theatre (street level of City Center in downtown Minneapolis). MMT's artistic director Steven Meerdink directs Five Course Love starring just three actors playing 15 different roles who are on the hunt for one true love.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) just announced that Colin Donnell (Anything Goes) and Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry (The Scottsboro Boys) will join two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster in a Broadway production of VIOLET, directed by Leigh Silverman.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director), Barry Grove (Executive Producer), and Mandy Greenfield (Artistic Producer) are pleased to announce complete casting for the upcoming world premiere production of TALES FROM RED VIENNA, the new play by David Grimm (Measure for Pleasure), directed by Kate Whoriskey (Ruined at MTC).

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) and Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company ('ARTIC'), the international hospitality subsidiary of Al Faisal Holding Company, one of Qatar's largest private diversified industry groups, today announced that ARTIC has acquired The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Miami, Florida for $213 million. The property will continue to be managed under a long-term agreement by Starwood Hotels and also continue to fly the St. Regis flag.

Theatre at St. Clement's hosts the World Premiere of The Clearing, written by Jake Jeppson (Jerome Fellowship recipient) and directed by Josh Hecht (Drama Desk Award winner for Christine Jorgensen Reveals). The Clearing runs Off-Broadway now through February 9, 2014. Previews began January 15 for a January 19 opening. The standout young Israeli pianist Roman Rabinovich will perform as soloist with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Principal Guest Conductor Boguslaw Dawidow in a cross-country tour of the United States from today, January 22nd to March 16th, 2014.

Lyric Opera of Chicago General Director Anthony Freud announced today that two major Broadway and TV performers – Jenn Gambatese and Edward Hibbert – have been cast in the new production and company premiere of Rodgers and Hammerstein's iconic The Sound of Music, to be presented at the Civic Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Drive, in Chicago, this spring.
