Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical SOUTH PACIFIC (book by Hammerstein and Joshua Logan) is currently playing at Drayton Entertainment's Huron Country Playhouse in Grand Bend, Ontario, under the direction (and choreography) of MICHAEL LICHTEFELD and it is an absolute delight!

LYLE THE CROCODILE, based on the children's book series by Bernard Waber, is appearing at the Imagination Stage, in Bethesda, Maryland. Geared for children ages four through twelve, former kids will also appreciate the warm-hearted story and the exuberant dancing.

An extraordinary crocodile that can tap dance, perform household chores, and rescue cats from burning buildings will star in the musical Lyle the Crocodile at Imagination Stage. Directed by Kathryn Chase Bryer and adapted by humorist Kevin Kling, this production featuring music by Richard Gray is wonderfully warm and witty and will win the hearts of young people this holiday season. At the 2013 Helen Hayes Awards, Imagination Stage received two awards for The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe. Imagination Stage is extremely proud of this collaboration with The Washington Ballet, and though it was the riskiest production the organization has ever produced, it was also the highest grossing show in Imagination Stage's history and broke attendance records.

It's definitely worth checking out this show. Many kudos to the Kennedy Center and VSA for taking a chance on this one.

If you take your kids to one theatre performance this holiday season, this should be the one! Even kids at heart are likely to enjoy themselves!

Even if you have heard the Tuskegee Airmen's story before, I urge you to take a chance on this exceptional production. It's heart-felt, challenging, and certainly well-presented. Ford's has definitely started its 2012-2013 season out with a bang.

LIVING WITH HENRY began with my personal HIV diagnosis 10 years ago - and grew as a means to cope with something that was initially very frightening - to shift it into something more humanized and emotionally manageable. The piece importantly frames HIV as a chronic illness rather than a death sentence - and it explores the very real challenges inherent in living with HIV today. Although HIV is a much different animal than it was twenty years ago - there is still a great deal of ignorance, stigma, misunderstanding and fear that we need to work through together as a united community.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Beyond Boundaries present Christopher Wilson's LIVING WITH HENRY, musically directed by James Higgins, and directed/choreographed by Donna Marie Barratta. Imagination Stage in Bethesda, MD has embarked on a new adventure with its current production of C.S. Lewis' beloved tale, The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe. In collaboration with The Washington Ballet, it has succeeded in putting forth a theatrical revelation- a production that's not a ballet, a musical, or a straight play, but something in between. Although Imagination Stage is generally very much geared towards children, theatre and dance-loving adults are likely to be enamored with this piece, including those who come to the theatre without children! Put succinctly, this is an astounding work of art.

Lewis, the roles of the four children are played jointly by an actor and a dancer, and the courageous lion Aslan is portrayed by a life-size puppet operated by three actor/puppeteers, similar to the puppets used in the Broadway production War Horse.
