YoungArts Announces Miami Art Week Events

During this year's Art Basel Miami Beach, the National YoungArts Foundation will host two visual arts exhibitions on their Miami campus, including the debut of a new body of work by José Parlá and an installation of rarely seen masterworks from the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection, as well as a booth at PULSE Miami Beach Contemporary Art Fair. Co-curated by Naomi Fisher (1994 YoungArts Winner in Visual Art) and Luisa Munera, YoungArts Artistic Programs Coordinator, the booth will feature works by ten YoungArts alumni.

Running now till October 23, Centenary Stage Company brings to life Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's mastermind detective Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily in the Sitnik Theater of the Lackland Performing Arts Center and audiences are raving. "Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily was wonderful; probably the best production I've seen in the last three years. It is well cast with excellent acting. Chris Young Teams Up with Toys for Tots

CMA Musical Event of the Year nominee CHRIS YOUNG is already celebrating the season as he gears up for the release of It Must Be Christmas this Friday, October 14. He's also helping to make the holidays a little brighter for disadvantaged children as he teams up with Toys For Tots, a 69-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, to collect donations along his headlining “I'm Comin' Over Tour” stops November 17 – December 10. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy or book to one of nine tour dates with gifts being distributed to less fortunate children in the local community.

On Tuesday, September 27th, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) kicked off its 2016-2017 season with the third annual YoungArts Awareness Day, promoting the arts as a viable and rewarding career path, and celebrating the outstanding achievements of artists across the nation, many of whom are YoungArts alumni.
