The Art Directors Guild's Gallery 800 (ADG, IATSE Local 800) presents FANTASTIC VOYAGE, an exclusive mixed media exhibition celebrating the genres of Sci-Fi, Fantasy & the Metaphysical Realm. The public will have a unique opportunity to meet and mingle with the artists at the exhibit openingand hosted reception on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Fantastic Voyage exhibition will run through November 2nd. Gallery 800 is located in the historic North Hollywood Arts District at 5108 Lankershim Boulevard.

Wild Swan Theater Co-Artistic Directors Hilary Cohen and Sandy Ryder announce the company's 40th season of performances. Nationally regarded as one of the finest theaters for young people in the country, Wild Swan produces artistic, accessible and affordable theater for families.  The upcoming season will feature some of our favorites, including the classics Strega Nona and the Magic Pasta Pot, A Christmas Carol, Frog and Toad, and Treasure Island, as well as the world premiere of the original drama Coding to the Moon:  Margaret Hamilton and the Apollo Missions.

21c Museum will present OFF-SPRING: New Generations, a group exhibition opening at 21c Lexington on August 4. Featuring 37 artists, the exhibition explores the development of personal and group identity through religious, cultural, institutional, and domestic rituals. To mark the opening of the exhibition, 21c Lexington will host a reception on August 4 from 6 - 9 p.m. with remarks by 21c Chief Curator and Museum Director Alice Gray Stites, and a special presentation by and artist Stacey Steers, whose work is featured in OFF-SPRING. This event is free and open to the public.

Peak Performances to Host the World Premiere of SPINNING

Peak Performances presents the world premiere of Spinning, a collaborative musical work written and composed by Pulitzer Prize winner and MacArthur Fellow Julia Wolfe (Anthracite Fields, 2015), and conceived with "cello goddess" (The New Yorker) Maya Beiser, with multimedia projections by innovative artist Laurie Olinder (May 10-13). Commissioned by Peak Performances and culminating their season of works by women, Spinning considers the essential labor of spinning thread-work once performed by hand by women-paying homage to the human dignity of this "women's work."

Strega Nona is a timeless story that satisfies the appetite for laughter and fun. Based on the original children's book written and illustrated by Tomie dePaola, Strega Nona ( Grandma Witch ) has a magical pasta pot, which only she can control. Silliness ensues when her helper, Big Anthony, does not listen to her and he causes Nona's magic pot to create so much pasta that it nearly buries their small Italian village. Strega Nona, brought to life by Ann Arbor's award-winning Wild Swan Theater, fills The Berman's stage at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018.

Part of the Plan - a new musical featuring 20 iconic songs from the catalogue of acclaimed singer/songwriter Dan Fogelberg - celebrates its world premiere and its possible trek toward Broadway with a 19-performance run at Nashville's Tennessee Performing Arts Center. The production opens Thursday, September 8 and continues through September 24 at TPAC's James K. Polk Theatre, with a gala red carpet event heralding the show's official opening night on Sunday, September 10.
