MSNBC to Air March on Washington 50th Anniversary Coverage, 8/28

MSNBC will present special coverage of the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington on Wednesday, August 28. The day will include live coverage from both Washington, D.C. and New York with Chris Matthews anchoring live from the National Mall throughout the day beginning at 11AM ET. Following President Obama's remarks at approximately 4PM ET, MSNBC will present Dr. Martin Luther King's entire 'I Have a Dream' speech. And, Chris Hayes will host a special “All In” at 8PM ET live from Washington, D.C.
Steve Kornacki Named New Host of MSNBC's UP

Steve Kornacki has been named the new host of MSNBC's "Up" which airs Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. ET. Jonathan Larsen will continue to serve as Executive Producer for the program. This announcement was made by Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC.

MSNBC ranked #2 for the month of February in all major ratings categories according to data from Nielsen. In February, MSNBC had the network's highest -rated State of the Union address in network history among A25-54 and total viewers, topping FOX News Channel among A25-54. MSNBC also had the network's most-watched news documentary in more than ten years with 'Hubris, The Selling the Iraq War' hosted by Rachel Maddow which debuted on February 18.

MSNBC is ringing in the New Year on a high note, topping CNN in primetime among A25-54 for the fourth consecutive year and among total viewers for the third straight year. MSNBC saw significant growth in 2012, up more than any other cable news network. Among total viewers, "Morning Joe," "Hardball," "PoliticsNation," "The Rachel Maddow Show" and "The Last Word" all had their best year ever in 2012 with several hitting time-period highs for MSNBC. Among adults 25-54, "Morning Joe," "PoliticsNation," "The Ed Show," "The Rachel Maddow Show" and "The Last Word" all had their best years ever in 2012.

December 10, 2012 - MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" at 9 p.m. ET and "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell" at 10 p.m. ET were both #1 in the A25-54 demo, topping both Fox News Channel and CNN for the week, according to data from Nielsen. For the week of Dec. 3-7, "Maddow" at 9 p.m. was #1 with 337,000 A25-54, while FNC's "Hannity" was second with 320,000 and CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" placed third with 126,000. Rachel Maddow hosted Monday-Tuesday, Chris Hayes hosted on Wednesday and Ezra Klein hosted Thursday-Friday.
