The first full song from the original cast recording Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black and Christopher Hampton's highly anticipated new West End musical STEPHEN WARD has been unveiled - a spirited, swingin' ditty titled '1963', also featuring a dialogue scene and dramatic final coda.

Anticipation is now building even further as Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black and Christopher Hampton's new musical STEPHEN WARD has begun previews in London's West End and the first production photo has now been leaked via the show's official Twitter feed.

The publication reports that the acclaimed composer will launch a campaign tomorrow with Mandy Rice-Davies and lawyer Geoffrey Robertson, petitioning to 'overturn the 50 year guilty verdict of the man at the centre of the Profumo affair, claiming he was let down by friends who wanted to save themselves.'

Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest musical, STEPHEN WARD, is just days away from beginning performance in London's West End. In anticipation, the acclaimed composer opened up to The Telegraph, telling them that he believes the modern musical has left music behind - and he hopes 'WARD' can break today's mold.

Last night Monday 25 November 2013, introduced by composer Andrew Lloyd-Webber, Alexander Hanson (Stephen Ward) and Charlotte Spencer (Christine Keeler) performed The Side of the Sky, at the Royal Variety Performance, from the forthcoming West End production of Stephen Ward. The cast for the World Premiere of Stephen Ward, directed by Richard Eyre, will comprise Alexander Hanson as Stephen Ward, Charlotte Spencer as Christine Keeler, Charlotte Blackledge as Mandy Rice Davies, Anthony Calfas Lord Astor, Daniel Flynn as John Profumo, Joanna Riding as Valerie Hobson, Ian Conningham as Ivanov, Chris Howell as Murray, Ricardo Coke Thomas as Lucky Gordon and Wayne Robinson as Johnny Edgecomp. Other cast members are Martin Callaghan, Kate Coyston, Jason Denton, Julian Forsyth, Amy Griffiths, Paul Kemble, Emma Kate Nelson, Carl Sanderson, Emily Squibb, John Stacey, Helen Ternent and Tim Walton.

Sir Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular ?4.5 million revival of Oliver! is already the fastest selling on record, with ?15 million in advance ticket sales before it even opened on January 14th at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Oliver took in ?3 million more than Dirty Dancing did in 2006, a stunning feat in these tough economic times. Robert Goold (Best Director, 2008 Olivier Awards) directs this production of Oliver!, which is based on Sam Mendes' triumphant 1994 staging, along with Tony award winning co-director and choreographer Matthew Bourne.
