Three luminaries of the music, news and sports broadcasting professions will be honored in New York City on May 5 at WFUV Radio's Annual Gala 2010. Legendary singer, musician and multiple Grammy-winner Levon Helm will receive the WFUV Sound & Vision Award; Baseball Hall of Fame member Ernie Harwell, longtime broadcaster for the Detroit Tigers, will receive the Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting; and Bob Schieffer, the seven-time Emmy Award-winning television journalist, will receive the Charles Osgood Lifetime Achievement Award in Broadcast Journalism. New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will attend and offer comments.

Ephron's screenplay is adapted from two books: My Life in France, Child's autobiography, written with Alex Prud'homme, and a memoir by Julie Powell. The 92nd Street Y announces final casting for the 2009 season of Lyrics & LyricistsTM, the Y's legendary American Songbook series. Linda Purl, La Tanya Hall, Johnny Rodgers and Hilary Kole join Polly Bergen, Lucie Arnaz, Tom Wopat, Marilyn Maye and more who will sing the songs of Ira Gershwin, Mel Torm? and DeSylva, Brown & Henderson. Charles Osgood returns to L&L as host, for the latter show. This is the first season curated by new series artistic director Deborah Grace Winer.
