Anthony Giardina's Off-Broadway smash hit THE CITY OF CONVERSATION, about a Georgetown political hostess, makes its Washington, D.C. debut at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Following his direction of the 2014 world premiere at Lincoln Center Theater, Tony Award winner Doug Hughes returns to direct this political drama spanning three decades, from Carter's presidency through the Reagan era and ending with Obama's inauguration. The producers of the hit Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof announced this morning that the production will donate $2 from every full-price ticket purchased to the show for all February 2016 performances to The United Way of Genesee County's Flint Water Fund, which directly provides aid the Michigan city's residents, currently suffering from a critical drinking water contamination crisis. 

On Monday, April 4 at 6:30pm, the sun-drenched piazzas of Florence will return to the Vivian Beaumont Theater stage for one night only when members of the original cast of Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award-winning musical THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, with book by Craig Lucas, music and lyrics by Adam Guettel, and direction by Bartlett Sher, gather for a 10th anniversary reunion concert which will also serve as Lincoln Center Theater's Annual Benefit.   Eric and Stacey Mindich are the Gala evening's Co-Chairs.  Proceeds will support Lincoln Center Theater's productions and education programs.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have just announced complete casting for Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming American premiere of The Father, the new play by Moliere Award winner Florian Zeller, in a translation by two-time Tony Award winner Christopher Hampton (Sunset Boulevard, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, God of Carnage), in a new production directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes (Doubt, Outside Mullingar, City of Conversation) atMTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Lyric Opera of Chicago continues its 61st season with Romeo and Juliet in a new-to-Chicago production created by Tony Award-winning director Bartlett Sher, Monday, February 22 through Saturday, March 19(nine performances). This is the eighth and final mainstage opera production of the widely acclaimed 2015/16 season.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop, Producing Artistic Director) has announced the casting of a succession of Kings to star this spring in its Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I, directed by Bartlett Sher, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Hoon Lee, who is currently starring as the King of Siam, will play his final performance in the role on Sunday, February 28.

The King could soon be traveling from Siam to Anna's world in Britain! The Daily Mail writes that Tony winner Kelli O'Hara might be leading Broadway's THE KING AND I across the pond late next year or in early 2017, with the Drury Lane Theatre rumored as the musical's new home.

The first national tour of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY opens at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre tonight, December 10, 2015, and plays through January 17, 2016.
