CHICAGO comes to the Morrison Center, Sept. 13-15, 2013. The No. 1 longest-running American musical in Broadway history will feature Paige Davis as Roxy Hart, Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn, Terra MacLeod as Velma Kelly, and Carol Woods as Matron 'Mama' Morton.

Davis will succeed Amy Spanger as Roxie Hart beginning tomorrow, August 13, and continue performances through August 28. Woods will play Mama Morton from August 20-28, after Russian singer Larisa Dolina's Broadway debut in the role.

BWW Review: Hamlisch Tribute Offers Smiles for a Summer's Night

The Cape Playhouse in Dennis Village is offering a bouquet of smiles for a summer's night with the world premiere of David Zippel's tribute show, THEY'RE PLAYING HIS SONGS: THE MUSIC OF MARVIN HAMLISCH, honoring both the man and his music. This bittersweet labor of love features the virtuoso piano accompaniment of Musical Director Christopher Marlowe, the talents of four singer/actors who all worked with Hamlisch during their careers, and entertaining video clips of the composer commenting on a range of subjects.

Following the announcement that SILENCE! The Musical would be ending its long run on December 30th, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records for the show so far. As a result, the producers determined that performances of the smash hit show will resume after a brief hiatus today, January 19th, at the Elektra Theatre, 669 Eighth Avenue (at 42nd St.).

Stephen Hanna Returns to SILENCE! This Saturday

Beginning this Saturday, January 19th, Stephen Hanna will return to the role of Dream Hannibal in Off-Broadway's sellout sensation SILENCE! The Musical at the new Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square. Following the announcement that SILENCE! would be ending its long run December 30th, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records for the show so far. As a result, the producers determined that performances of the smash hit show will resume on January 19th. Originally announced as a strictly limited engagement through August 13, 2011, SILENCE! was extended numerous times by popular demand and transferred theatres twice, ultimately landing at the new Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square, which was constructed especially for the show. SILENCE! opened at Theatre 80 on July 9, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews and spawned a highly successful L.A. production starring Davis Gaines and Christine Lakin.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 37th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards. Many of the major categories were announced this morning on 'CBS News' 'The Early Show,' by Bree Williamson (Jessica Brennan on 'One Life to Live,' ABC) and Travis Stork ('The Doctors,' Syndicated) including the naming of the Lifetime Achievement honoree, Agnes Nixon, the grand dame of Daytime serial drama.

By now, just about everyone has seen some form of Kander and Ebb's razzle-dazzle musical Chicago. With a successful revival and an even more successful film, the 1975 musical that lost all its Tony Awards to a little show called A Chorus Line is now a worldwide phenomenon. Currently touring the country (and fresh off a stop in Dubai of all places), I am happy to report that Chicago is in fine shape. Though the Rob Marshall screen treatment is quite good, nothing can touch seeing the acclaimed revival live.
