Performances begin Tuesday, February 17th with an official opening night set for Thursday, February 26th, 7:30 p.m., at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street), whose space was completely redesigned for this production.

Travanti stars as Cornelius ('Con') Melody, once a landed gentleman in Ireland, now an innkeeper in America who has fallen upon hard times. He lives in the past, strutting like a peacock in his army officer's uniform from twenty years before, playing the part of the nobleman and treating his wife Nora (Ellen Crawford) and daughter Sara (Tessa Klein) with contempt and derision -- all to puff up his own sense of pride and importance.

Last night in New York, Thursday 13 November, Stephen Daldry's production of Billy Elliot The Musical opened on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre to rave reviews. Haydn Gwynne, who created the role on stage in London of Billy Elliot's dance teacher Mrs Wilkinson, made her Broadway debut and playing the title role of Billy Elliot was 13 year old Trent Kowalik from New York.

Rehearsals began last week for XANADU at La Jolla Playhouse in anticipation of its West Coast debut on November 23, 2008 directed by Artistic Director Christopher Ashley. Xanadu's cast joins the creative team of the surprise hit Broadway musical at the Playhouse before embarking on a national tour. Xanadu will have its first performance November 11, 2008 and run through December 31 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.

Executive Producers Barbra Russell and Ron Sharpe will close Jill Santoriello's sweeping musical epic, 'A TALE OF TWO CITIES' on Broadway today, Sunday, November 9th at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues). The musical moved the date of closing up a week from the originally announced final performance of November 16th. The early closing was confirmed to BroadwayWorld by a spokesperson for the production.

The hit Broadway production of EQUUS will offer $31.50 student rush tickets beginning Tuesday, October 28 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). Peter Shaffer's EQUUS stars Richard Griffiths and Daniel Radcliffe and is directed by Thea Sharrock. The production is playing a strictly limited engagement through February 8, 2009.
