Penumbra Theatre Company, Minnesota's only African American theatre, proudly announced today the fourth annual Word(s)PLAY!, a forum designed to develop new plays by African American playwrights. Word(s)PLAY! will introduce two plays to the Twin Cities June 16 & July 28, 2012 at 7:30 PM.

Masterworks Broadway will release the Encores! cast recording of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The album will be recorded in New York City this week, and will feature "A Little Girl From Little Rock," "Bye Bye Baby," and of course, the classic made famous by Marilyn Monroe, "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend."

Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza in Makati City last weekend. The Second Annual Tony Awards Film Series kicked off this weekend, featuring a collection of Broadway inspired films and exclusive interactive opportunities for audiences, including panel discussions with Tony Award winners, a Carol Channing look-a-like contest and sing-a-long. The Tony Awards previously announced the line-up for the 2nd Annual Tony Awards Film Series, which takes place today, May 12th and Sunday, May 13th at The Paley Center for Media. The Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards, which are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from the Beacon Theatre, on the CBS television network on Sunday, June 10, 2012.
