The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) will present PAULA POUNDSTONE tonight, October 18th at 8:00 PM. 25 years ago Paula Poundstone climbed on a Greyhound bus and traveled across the country - stopping in at open mic nights at comedy clubs as she went.

The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) will present PAULA POUNDSTONE on Saturday, October 18th at 8:00 PM. 25 years ago Paula Poundstone climbed on a Greyhound bus and traveled across the country - stopping in at open mic nights at comedy clubs as she went. A high school drop-out, she went on to become one of the great humorists of our time. You can hear her through your laughter as a regular panelist on NPR's popular rascal of a weekly news quiz show, Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me. She tours regularly, performing standup comedy across the country, causing Bob Zany with the Boston Globe to write: 'Poundstone can regale an audience for several hours with her distinctive brand of wry, intelligent and witty comedy.' On April 28, Symphony Space will host its spring gala, Fiddler at 50, to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Fiddler on the Roof. The evening will honor Sheldon Harnick, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning lyricist behind the iconic musical. Symphony Space's Gala is co-chaired by Lenore Davis and Amy Wilson. Honorary co-chairs for the evening are Mary Rodgers Guettel, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Harold Prince, and Stephen Sondheim.

Hershey Area Playhouse will present the Pulitzer Prize winning play Proof in April. Proof is the story of a mathematician whose genius and madness wreaks havoc on his daughters and a former student. When the former student finds a revolutionary mathematical proof among the mathematician's papers, the characters become steeped in conflict as they struggle to determine who wrote the proof.

Each spring Symphony Space honors individuals and organizations who share its dedication to keeping the arts accessible to all New Yorkers. On April 15, 2013, the Spring Swing and Access to the Arts Awards Gala will honor Steven M. Alden, Louise Kerz Hirschfeld & Lewis B. Cullman, Luis Ubiñas, and the late Isaiah Sheffer. Co-chaired by Amy Wilson and David Flannery, and BD Wong, the 2013 Spring Swing Gala will be held at Capitale, located at 130 Bowery on the Lower East Side. The evening begins with cocktails and a silent auction at 6:30pm, followed by dinner and entertainment at 7:30 PM, and concludes with dancing and dessert.
