Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' MAMMA MIA!, the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, is set to return to Sacramento. Performances begin on March 13 2012, and run through March 18 at the Sacramento Community Center Theater, 1301 L Street, Sacramento.

Upon the conclusion of six weeks of intense competition which began January 8, nearly a thousand patrons supported 20 of Southern California's newest and most dynamic, young musical theatre performers in LA's Next Great Stage Star 2012 at Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's in Studio City, CA.

California Musical Theatre Executive Producer Richard Lewis has announced the line-up of shows for the 2012 summer season of Sacramento Music Circus at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The five-show season will include the Music Circus premiere of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID and the return of four musical theatre classics that are consistently among the most requested shows by Music Circus patrons, GREASE, THE MUSIC MAN, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and CRAZY FOR YOU.

A small piece of the national tour of "West Side Story" remains in Sacramento these next two months, but it's not what you might think. And while many anticipate the arrival of the hit musical "Wicked," they can get their Wicked kicks at California Musical Theater's Cosmopolitan Cabaret, but with more humor than magic. Songs from these and many more shows are part of a Broadway revue in downtown Sacramento playing through March 18. But this isn't your typical revue. This revue has four fantastic actors constantly changing from excessive costume to excessive costume as they take on some of the most well know Broadway tunes with a revised, "forbidden" twist. The tunes are there, but the cleverly reinvented lyrics of "Forbidden Broadway" make fun of everything musical theater.

The 2012 Cosmopolitan Cabaret season, California Musical Theatre's fourth in the intimate 200-seat venue at 1000 K St. in Sacramento, will feature the hysterical Broadway parody Forbidden Broadway, the highly caffeinated comedy Triple Espresso, and the smash relationship hit musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.

Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction will be recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway. The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).

For one night only the Cosmopolitan Cabaret is bringing a very different holiday musical to its intimate 200-seat theatre located at 1000 K Street. Sacramento's hottest comedy welcomes a new 'Caveman' Wednesday, August 17. Our favorite stand up comedian, Vince Valentine, has taken over the lovable Neanderthal role and will perform from August 17 through the end of the run (September 11.)
