Iconic dances, magical choreography and incredible music come together as American Dance Spectacular at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, October 22 at 7pm as part of the Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series. From The Charleston and Jitterbug to Disco, and Hip Hop Broadway's hottest dancers and singers backed by a live band will take you to America's flashiest dance floors all choreographed by Al Blackstone of TV's So You Think You Can Dance ! The cast includes Jennifer DiNoia (Broadway's WICKED (Elphaba), MAMMA MIA!), Vishal Vaidya (Broadway's GROUNDHOG DAY), Daniel Gaymon (Broadway's CATS), Alexa Green (Broadway's WICKED) with music direction by Bryan Perri (Broadway's Wicked ), book by Susan Batten (Lifetime TV's Showing Roots ), and created and directed by Daniel C. Levine ( Mamma Mia!, Les Miserables ). American Dance Spectacular is a show that dance fans will not want to miss! The Schimmel Center presents American Dance Spectacular! on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m., exploring the history of American popular dance throughout the 20th century, including the Charleston, Lindy hop, jitterbug, twist, voguing, and more. The performance is directed, co-written and created by Daniel C. Levine (Broadway's Les Mis rables, Chicago, and Mamma Mia!) with choreography by Al Blackstone (Fox's So You Think You Can Dance), music direction by Bryan Perri (Broadway's Wicked and Next to Normal), and book by Susan Batten (Lifetime's Showing Roots) together with six Broadway dancers backed by three vocalists and a live band.

Directed by Christopher Ashley, Artistic Director of La Jolla Playhouse, it has been hailed as "a polished, peppy, modern fairy tale" by The Washington Post. With high-energy choreography by Sergio Trujillo (Memphis, Jersey Boys), this vivacious production is "delightfully spunky" with "timeless appeal" (Variety).

Considered one of the most iconic musicals ever written, 'Jesus Christ Superstar' includes legendary hits such as 'Everything's Alright,' 'I Don't Know How To Love Him,' and 'Gethsemane.' This is a unique adaptation of the multiple Tony Award winning, and Laurence Olivier Award-nominated, classic Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice production and is produced by ACT of Connecticut.
