NORMAN TWAIN, 85, a prominent theatrical producer in New York and California in the 1960's and 1970's who later became a successful and award-winning film producer, died Saturday morning, August 6th, after a brief illness.

Roundabout Theatre Company's new production of  The Cherry Orchard, starring Diane Lane, Chuck Cooper, Tavi Gevinson, John Glover, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Harold Perrineau and Joel Grey, has found its full company.

Just announced this afternoon, Roundabout Theatre Company will welcome Chuck Cooper as 'Pischik,' joining Diane Lane, Tavi Gevinson, John Glover, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Harold Perrineau and Joel Grey in a new production of The Cherry Orchard.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) just announced additional cast members joining Diane Lane in a new production of The Cherry Orchard.

According to Broadway Journal, The Culture Project, a theater located in the East Village, has filed for bankruptcy protection.

?Three-time Tony Award nominee and Theater Hall of Fame inductee Brian Murray stars in the thriller, SIMON SAYS, a new play by Mat Schaffer, which will have its New York premiere at The Culture Project's Lynn Redgrave Theater (45 Bleecker Street) where it opens on Saturday, July 9th. Directed by Myriam Cyr,  SIMON SAYS will begin previews on Wednesday, July 6th and will play a limited engagement through Saturday, July 30th. Andy Grotelueschen has received the annual St. Clair Bayfield Award presented by the Actors Equity Foundation for his performance as Launce in the Fiasco Theater's production of Two Gentlemen of Verona. The announcement was made by Arne Gundersen, President of the Foundation, and Joan Glazer, Managing Director.

HarperCollins Publishers, a subsidiary of News Corp (NASDAQ:NWS)(NASDAQ:NWSA)(ASX:NWS)(ASX:NWSLV) and joint venture partner Ediouro Group today announced the formation of HarperCollins Brasil, which combines the existing operations of Thomas Nelson Brasil and Harlequin Brasil with Ediouro's commercial trade publishing titles and personnel.

The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents and marketing professionals, presented the 5th annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards on June 16th at Sardi's, honoring outstanding achievement in Off Broadway theatre for the 2014 - 2015 season. Honorees were on hand to receive their awards and Arthur Gelb, Judith Malina and Marian Seldes were posthumously inducted into the Off Broadway Hall of Fame.

The Colony Theatre has announced that the final production of its historic 40thAnniversary season, the critically-acclaimed, smash-hit, Los Angeles Premiere of WORDS BY IRA GERSHWIN A Musical Play by Joseph Vass, directed by David Ellenstein, Musical Director Kevin Toney, Musical Arranger Joseph Vass will be EXTENDING through SUNDAY, MAY 24 at the Colony Theatre, 555 N. Third Street in Burbank.

The Colony Theatre is thrilled to present the final production of its historic 40th Anniversary season, the Los Angeles Premiere of WORDS BY IRA GERSHWIN A Musical Play by Joseph Vass, directed by David Ellenstein, Musical Director Kevin Toney, Musical Arranger Joseph Vass. WORDS BY IRA GERSHWIN will preview today, April 15; Thursday, April 16; and Friday, April 17 at 8:00pm. It will open on Saturday, April 18 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, May 17.

Following critically-acclaimed runs at London's National Theater and Philadelphia's The Wilma Theater along with recognition in Israel and throughout Europe, The Temple Emanu-El Skirball Center and the Polish Cultural Institute New York present a one-night-only staged reading of Our Class by Tadeusz S?obodzianek.
