Canned Rice Productions and Shannyn Fourie's show about country music legend June Carter Cash and her husband, Johnny, will return to the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre for an encore season this May.

John Mellencamp's Plain Spoken Tour has been called "a triumphant, career-spanning show" (Hollywood Reporter) and a "superb performance…still full of fiery defiance" (Boston Globe). The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer launched the tour in early 2015 to support his critically-acclaimed 22nd studio album 'Plain Spoken' and extended with dates through Spring 2016 due to overwhelming fan demand. Following a run of more than 100 sold-out shows, Mellencamp announced today the seventh and final leg of the Plain Spoken Tour, with support artist Carlene Carter, kicking off October 11 at the Hanover Theater in Worcester, MA.

Zmei3 (pronounced zmay-tray) is made up of Romanian immigrants whose beautiful and heartfelt music rises from the harsh realities and struggles of a post-Communist rule. Legendary singer-songwriter John Hiatt has been touring the country in support of his new album, Terms of My Surrender, and will play the South Orange Performing Arts Center May 1 at 7:30 p.m. in an acoustic concert that showcases his unique talents.  He began his career as a songwriter in Nashville, but it quickly became apparent that not only was able to write great hits for others, he could perform them as well. 1987's "Have A Little Faith In Me" and "Thing Called Love" solidified Hiatt's career both as a songwriter in great demand, and a recording artist. 

According to The New York Times, Tony Award winning choreographer Twyla Tharp will present her latest work this summer at the Joyce Theater. The work is currently untitled and is 'a dramatic piece set to a late Beethoven quartet.' Ms. Tharp is currently the artist in residence at the theatre.
