Hennepin Theatre Trust Announces Artists for SPIRIT: MADE HERE

Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced the artists selected for the next installation of Made Here window displays in WeDo-the West Downtown Minneapolis Cultural District. Spirit: Made Here, sponsored by Andersen Windows, will feature artwork by more than 75 Minnesota artists and students, including brand new artists and internationally renowned professionals. The walkable urban art gallery will launch on Hennepin Avenue with a free, public celebration at Marin Restaurant & Bar (901 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis) on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 5 to 8 p.m.

In conjunction with their 60(th) anniversary this year, Verve is celebrating the genius of Simone, the supernaturally gifted singer, pianist and prolific songwriter, and her incredible mid-'60s run with the release of her entire Philips catalog on vinyl.

During February of 2016 American blues singer and guitarist Peach Reasoner returned to Copenhagen to play with her band at her favorite club, the cozy Cafe Bartof. Club owners Joacim "Jokke" Friss Holm and Charlotte Bertelsen had graciously agreed that recording equipment could be brought for a live recording session.

Over her storied career, Twyla Tharp has created over 160 dances across genres, choreographed for film (from Miloš Forman to James Brooks) and Broadway (with music ranging from Billy Joel to Bob Dylan). She's received a Tony Award, 19 honorary doctorates, a MacArthur Fellowship, among other honors (see below).
