For the first time ever, the musical Carrie has been preserved in a cast recording of the recent MCC Theater Off-Broadway revival. Just last night there was a special 'listening party' for the long awaited album, which officially comes out September 25, 2012 on Ghostlight Records. Performances take place at The Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) and tickets go on sale at 11AM today Thursday, August 23rd at www.mcctheater.org or by calling (212) 352-3101.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have just announced two additional productions for Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming 2012-2013 theatrical season. Meadow and Mandy Greenfield, MTC's Artistic Producer who is the lead in programming and execution at MTC's Off-Broadway home, are finalizing plans for the rest of the 2012-2013 season.

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) today announced that Jon Bernthal (AMC's "The Walking Dead") and actor/playwright John Pollono will star in the New York Premiere of Small Engine Repair, by John Pollono, directed by Jo Bonney (Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon, Some Girl(s), Fat Pig). The production will be the third and final production of MCC's 2012-13 three-play mainstage season, which marks the company's 27th consecutive year producing and developing new work by today's most provocative and vibrant artists. Small Engine Repair will be performed at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) May 16 - June 23, 2013.

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) announced today that Emmanuelle Chriqui ("Entourage," "The Borgias") and Cheyenne Jackson ("30 Rock," Xanadu) have joined the cast of Playwright-in-Residence Neil LaBute's The Heart of the Matter, which the company will present for four nights only next week. The company will also feature actor Krysten Ritter ("Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23," "Breaking Bad"), with additional cast members to be announced. The special benefit performances will take place June 13, 14, 15 and 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC). Directed by Carolyn Cantor (Regrets at Manhattan Theatre Club, MCC's production of LaBute's In a Dark Dark House), proceeds will support MCC Theater's Playwrights' Coalition program, free PlayLab reading series and literary development activities.

Ghostlight Records announced today that they will go into the recording studio with the cast of Carrie next week, April 17, to record the first-ever cast album. Release dates for the album will be announced at a later time.

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) announced today that Carrie will be filmed and preserved for the Lincoln Center Library For The Performing Arts' Theatre On Film and Tape Archive during the matinee performance on Saturday, April 7th, marking the first-ever professional recording of the legendary show. As previously announced, Carrie will close following the evening performance on Sunday, April 8, 2012 (after 34 previews and 46 performances), concluding an initial 8-week run and 2-week extension.

James (The Book of Mormon), Josh Gad ("Modern Family," The Book of Mormon), Norm Lewis (The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess), Jan Maxwell (Follies, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Rory O'Malley (The Book of Mormon), Constantine Maroulis ("American Idol," Rock of Ages), Nicole Parker ("Mad TV," a Miscast favorite returning for her 4th time). The musical Carrie made her return eagerly awaiting return to New York City last night after the show's notoriously short 1988 run on Broadway.
