Music icon Billy Joel kicked off a record-tying run of concerts at New York City's Madison Square Garden in January and will have played 12 shows by the time his residency ends in December. So, he's busy -- but not writing new music. The legendary musician hasn't released an album since 1993. And in a profile by The New Yorker, Joel revealed the reason he won't be recording another.

Back by overwhelming public demand following a sold out show this past May, The Seacoast Repertory Theatre has announced two performances of the 'Michael Troy is the Elton Joel Show'. Performances will be on consecutive Fridays, today October 17 and October 24, 2014 at 8:00pm.

The Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago presents a preview showing of Osiris and Isis, a new evening-length story-ballet choreographed by Chicagoan Ron De Jesus and performed by his namesake company, Ron De Jesus Dance, inspired by the ancient Egyptian myth of Osiris, the god who was murdered by his brother, Seth, and resurrected by his loving wife, Isis. The preview is presented one night only in the Yelda Khorsabad Court of the Oriental Institute, 1155 E. 58th Street in Hyde Park, tonight, October 17 at 7 pm.

Music Director and Conductor Michael Krajewski, the nationally recognized Pops conductor who performs with orchestras throughout the country, brings back his innovative programming and lighthearted approach with the 2014-2015 concert season of The Philly POPS. Encore Series, Inc, the presenter of The Philly POPS, is pleased to introduce this exciting series of concerts which begins in October, 2014 with the Era of ABBA, followed by Classic Soul. It continues with a salute to the American Songbook Then and Now and a visit to the movies with Epic Hollywood Soundtracks. The season ends with the Legends of Rock.

Hailed as 'two parts Sinatra, one part Billy Joel, meshed seamlessly' by the New York Times, singer, pianist and songwriter Tony DeSare returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko with his brand new show, Night Life, for two performances only - tonight, October 16 (8 p.m.) and tomorrow, October 17 (8 p.m.).

Neil Berg will bring his Supper Series performances to Pier 701 in Piermont, New York. Each show will feature a variety of excellent musical entertainment for guests along with a gourmet dinner. The fist show, 'A Night of Broadway Stars' will kick off on Saturday, October 18th.

Along with producing powerful Shakespeare plays like Julius Caesar (Oct. 28 - Dec. 7), Folger Theatre joins with Promundo-US to offer a special performance of Cry 'Havoc!' on Tuesday, November 4 at 7pm. This dramatic evening draws meaningful connections between soldiers and military personnel of our day with those of Shakespeare's works. It is written and performed by US military veteran Stephan Wolfert.

Joe's Pub at The Public presents Largo, a night of song from the legendary concept album, on Thursday, October 30 at 7:00PM. Largo was produced and written in 1998 by Rick Chertoff and Rob Hyman, with co-writing by David Forman and Eric Bazilian.
