In today's New York Post, Billy Crystal speaks to Michael Riedel about making his return to Broadway in his acclaimed show 700 SUNDAYS, coming to the Imperial Theater for a nine-week run beginning on November 5th.

At age 27, Christopher Massimine is the youngest theater executive to oversee the production activities within a major multi-million dollar theatrical organization. Previously holding the position of Marketing Communications Director at The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene, he has now assumed the role as Producing Director where he will act as Supervising Producer on Folksbiene's forthcoming musical production LIES MY FATHER TOLD ME, a critical success in Canada making its American debut at Baruch Performing Arts Center on November 10 and running through December 15.

This is a show not to be missed by any theatre-loving Minneapolitan or anyone within driving distance because, not only was it funny as hell, it has more heart than you know what to do with. Stephen King's DOCTOR SLEEP climbed to the top of the New York Times' fiction list for the week ending Oct. 13, bumping Nicholas Sparks' latest romance THE LONGEST RIDE to the second spot. Sandra Brown's DEADLINE rounded out the top three.

TWEED TheaterWorks & Theater 80 St. Marks have announced the highly anticipated NYC return of Varla Jean Merman with Boston's acclaimed Gold Dust Orphans in the New York premiere of MILDRED FIERCE, a dizzily entertaining sendup of the 1945 classic 'MildrEd Pierce', which will begin previews on Saturday, October 5that Theater 80 St. Marks. The production, written by Ryan Landry will have it's official opening tonight, October 12th at 10:30PM and will continue performances until October 27th.

La Jolla Playhouse announces a fifth production for its 2013/14 season: the world premiere of The Tallest Tree, a new play with music written and performed by Daniel Beaty (Emergency, Through the Night), directed by Moises Kaufman (I Am My Own Wife, The Laramie Project). A co-production with Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Tallest Tree will run in The Playhouse's Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre tonight, October 9 - November 3, 2013. The piece is produced in association with Tectonic Theater Project.

Nicholas Sparks' latest romance THE LONGEST RIDE climbed to the top of the New York Times best seller list for the week ending Oct. 6. Last week, the novel claimed the eighth spot. J.D. Robb's latest THANKLESS IN DEATH took second, while Catherine Coulter and J.T. Ellison's THE FINAL CUT rounded out the top three.
