Just in via Baz Bamingoye of The Daily Mail, Andy Karl will star in GROUNDHOG DAY THE MUSICAL, in the role made famous by Bill Murray in the film. 

HISTORY(R) will premiere the documentary feature film, DRUNK, STONED, BRILLIANT, DEAD: THE STORY OF THE NATIONAL LAMPOON, tonight, January 22 at 9pm ET/PT. Directed by Douglas Tirola (Hey Bartender), the film gives a unique inside look at the magazine, its key players and what made it so outrageously successful.

A new production of THE GUYS, a play by Anne Nelson, opens tonight, Jan. 20, and will honor the 150th Anniversary of the New York Fire Department, Father Mychal Judge, OFM, the first certified fatality in the September 11, 2001 attacks and the Lt. Joseph G. Leavey Foundation. The play will begin at 7:30pm at the Davenport Theatre, a converted firehouse on West 45th Street, and will run through Jan. 23.

The theatre community's favorite parody account, Annoying Actor Friend, has been all of those things at different times during its nearly three and a half year existence. The one constant for the character, whether it was brazenly flirting with the official SMASH account, championing causes important to theatre actors and fans, or shamelessly plugging its concerts and books, has been its anonymity. That is of course until yesterday when the account, followed by over 20,000 people, innocuously retweeted a link from a seemingly random blog by Andrew Briedis.
