ANGELS IN AMERICA Extends Again Thru Feb. 20, 2011

Due to overwhelming demand, Signature Theatre Company (Founding Artistic Director James Houghton; Executive Director Erika Mallin) is pleased to announce a second extension for the first New York revival of Tony Kushner's ANGELS IN AMERICA: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, directed by Michael Greif. The production, originally slated to run through December 19, 2010 and extended once through January 30, 2011, will now play an additional three weeks through Sunday, February 20, 2011.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced the selection of the individuals who will receive the 2010 Kennedy Center Honors. Recipients to be honored at the 33rd annual national celebration of the arts are: singer and songwriter Merle Haggard; composer and lyricist Jerry Herman; dancer, choreographer and director Bill T. Jones; songwriter and musician Paul McCartney; and producer, television host and actress Oprah Winfrey.

The Ovation Award-winning theater company is bringing Shakespeare's somber saga to the stage, serenaded by the soulful songs of Mr. ‘Ain't No Sunshine', Bill Withers. Jealous King Leontes asks Who is He and What is He To You of wife Hermione, who professes, it's Just the Two of Us. But Leontes is convinced, 'They're trying to Use Me Up!' and banishes her, only to realize there Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone. But with the help of Grandma's Hands, he regains his lost Hermione who says Lean On Me, and we'll have a Lovely Day.

Family four-packs for Scapin and A Christmas Carol (which provide four tickets at substantial discounts for select performances) will also be available for purchase at that time. Single tickets for the world premiere of the new musical Tales of the City will be available for purchase later in the season. Patrons are encouraged to buy their tickets early to obtain the best seats, as orchestra seats are limited due to heavy demand for subscriber seating.
