Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Glenn Close will play the role of 'Dr. Emma Brookner' in the upcoming, Joel Grey-directed, 25th anniversary staged reading of Larry Kramer's ground-breaking play, The Normal Heart. She joins previously announced cast members Victor Garber, Jason Butler Harner, John Benjamin Hickey, Joe Mantello, Jack McBrayer, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Patrick Wilson in the one-night-only event that will benefit The Actors Fund and Friends in Deed. The historic reading will take place at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street) on Monday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Theatre for a New Audience, in association with Baryshnikov Arts Center, presents the New York premiere of Yale Repertory Theatre's production of Notes from Underground, the revolutionary novella by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Notes from Underground is adapted for the stage by the OBIE Award-winning actor Bill Camp, and Robert Woodruff. It is directed by Mr. Woodruff and stars Mr. Camp as the Underground Man.

Vassar & New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater is pleased to announce the cast of PIRATE (July 21 - Aug 1), the latest among 13 new works by John Patrick Shanley to have premiered at Powerhouse since 1985. The cast will feature Bill Camp (Coram Boy, Heartbreak House, Revolutionary Road), Ivan Hernandez (Yank!, Romantic Poetry, Most Happy Fella), Charlotte Parry (Equivocation, Coram Boy, The Real Thing), and Michael Puzzo (Killing Women, Khartoum, Dirty Story, In Arabia We'd All be Kings).

Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) has received a $1 million gift from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in support of the activities of the Yale Center for New Theatre over the next five years.

Founding Artistic Director Jeffrey Horowitz announced Theatre for a New Audience will dedicate its 31st season to two literary giants. La Jolla Playhouse announced today an exciting new production for its 2010/11 subscription season: the world premiere musical Little Miss Sunshine. The Tony Award-winning creative team of composer/lyricist William Finn and writer/director James Lapine, who previously collaborated on the Tony Award-winning musicals Falsettos and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, will bring their latest project to the Playhouse. The production will run February 15 - March 27, 2011 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.

English playwright David Hare has selected blu by Virginia Grise as the 2010 winner of the annual Yale Drama Series competition. The runners-up are Siona MacDuff by Mary Hamilton and Nineteen Kinds of Peril by Tom Lavignino.
