HB Studio to Produce 2016-17 Benefit Series

HB Studio, one of New York's most venerable institutions for theater training and practice, is shaking things up this year for their annual benefit. This year HB Studio is bringing attention back to its roots, and back to the process of making great theater. Instead of one big benefit bash honoring esteemed alumni and colleagues (such as Fritz Weaver, Austin Pendleton, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, Eric Bentley and David Hyde Pierce, Amanda Peet and Lee Grant, Tony Walton and Katie Finneran, Alfred Molina), HB will be hosting a series of intimate benefit performances featuring notable HB alumni and friends, exclusively produced in the HB Playwrights Theater. Ukulele superstar Jake Shimabukuro's tour will stop at Kleinhans Music Hall on at 8 p.m. Nov. 17. Last year, Shimabukuro performed the US Mainland premiere of Byron Yasui's Ukulele Concerto with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra to great acclaim and positive audience response.
Gavin Creel and RuPaul's Drag Race Winner Jinkx Monsoon to Perform at NOCCA

The stars will continue to shine on New Orleans this season. Broadway's Gavin Creel, Olivier Award Winning star "The Book of Mormon and star of "She Loves Me" will perform on December 15, 2016 at 7:30 PM. Creel will perform with Sirius XM Radio host Seth Rudetsky at the piano, prior to his return to Broadway where he will co-star with Bette Midler in the Broadway revival of "Hello Dolly!"

The first-ever Live Love Thrive Conference was held on Saturday, November 12 in West Hollywood and featured a line-up of trailblazing women leaders in a series of sessions designed to assist attendees in both finding their life's purpose as well as in funding, marketing and manifesting it. The conference was presented and co-sponsored by the City of West Hollywood, the Women's and Lesbian Gay Advisory Board and Honda of Downtown Los Angeles.
