In everyone's lives, there are moments that they will never forget; and for four talented Central Florida girls, one of those moments came last Thursday, as they were selected to perform on November 15th alongside world-renowned stars of nearly every musical genre at 'Broadway & Beyond,' the Grand Premiere event of Orlando's newest performance venue, The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The event will feature Broadway's Norm Lewis and Sierra Boggess, in addition to many others.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts held auditions on Thursday, October 9 for a Central Florida-based singer between the ages of 9-14 with the goal of finding one girl to perform in Broadway & Beyond at the Walt Disney Theater on November 15. Instead, four fortunate performers will make their debuts with an all-star, professional Broadway cast for the Grand Premiere of Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, presented by Dr. Phillips Charities and Balfour Beatty Construction.

In Marsalis Well-Tempered, saxophonist Branford Marsalis, most commonly known for his work in jazz, tackles baroque oboe concertos on the soprano saxophone backed by a world-class chamber orchestra in two exciting programs, each on a different day, at Harris Center for the Arts. This is a terrific opportunity for jazz lovers following this artist to discover the magic of classical music, and classical music lovers to discover what a top-flight jazz artist can do when he sets his sights on a new genre of music.

Grammy and two-time Emmy Award-winning music director and composer John McDaniel (Bonnie and Clyde, The Rosie O'Donnell Show) is coming to Naples to music direct Oscar-winning actress Shirley Jones at TheatreZone's gala fundraiser 'An Evening with Shirley Jones' on Sunday, Nov. 9.

Broadway & Beyond will open the Walt Disney Theater during the Grand Premiere of Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Presented by Dr. Phillips Charities and Balfour Beatty Construction.

The show is under the direction of renowned Broadway producer Richard Jay-Alexander and musical director Mary-Mitchell Campbell. Bucks County Playhouse Producers Robyn Goodman and Alexander Fraser announce the launch of a musical theatre development program focusing on the importance of lyrics in the creation of new musicals: The Oscar Hammerstein Festival - named in honor of the master writer whose countless accomplishments during his illustrious career include having mentored a young Stephen Sondheim at Hammerstein's Bucks County farm -- is a year-long program that offers expert mentorship to early career composers and lyricists. The Oscar Hammerstein Festival will culminate in a weekend with musical theatre experts, artists, and enthusiasts and various events open to the general public. The Festival will launch this weekend, September 26 - 28, 2014.

Due to popular demand, The Public Theater has extended Bridget Everett's critically acclaimed ROCK BOTTOM at Joe's Pub to Thursday, October 16. Created by Bridget Everett, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, Adam 'Ad-Rock' Horovitz, and Matt Ray, and directed by Scott Wittman, this shockingly funny and moving new show began performances on September 9 and was originally slated to close on October 11. ROCK BOTTOM was originally commissioned as part of the Joe's Pub 2013 New York Voices series.
