NYTB/Chamber Works (Diana Byer, Founder and Artistic Director) announces Sleeping Beauty performances (February 29 & March 1) at Florence Gould Hall (55 East 59th Street, NYC). Tchaikovsky's captivating score sets the mood for James Sutton's hour-long version of Sleeping Beauty from the Co.'s Once Upon a Ballet Series (suitable for ages 3+). Set in a magical fairy kingdom beneath the roots of a great tree, this beloved classic, filled with magic and poetry, tells the enchanting tale of Princess Aurora from her fateful birth to her triumphant wedding. The set, property design, & scenic painting are by Gillian Bradshaw-Smith, and costumes are designed by Sylvia Taalsohn Nolan
Dark Circles Celebrates Queer Voices with Winter Series

Following four sold-out performances of Joshua L. Peugh's Aladdin, Habibi in the Elevator Project at AT&T Performing Arts Center in October, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance (which is being featured as WaterTower Theatre's Guest Company in Residence) moves to Addison Theatre Centre-the company's new home theatre for 2019-for a Winter Series featuring three world premieres centering on gay identity in America. The new works will explore gay narratives, themes, and ideas and will be performed by a mostly queer company of dancers. Dark Circles has commissioned budding gay choreographers Mark Caserta, Eoghan Dillon, and Mikey Morado for the program. A new creation by Peugh-in collaboration with queer multimedia artist Brian Kenny-closes the evening. Performances will run January 24 - 27, 2019 at Addison Theatre Centre.
10 Hairy Legs Debuts at Baryshnikov Arts Center for Sixth Consecutive New York Season

10 Hairy Legs, the all male repertory dance company, dèbuts at Baryshnikov Arts Center for its sixth consecutive New York Season for four performances June 7 -10. The program features World Premieres by Bessie Award Nominee and company member Nicholas Sciscione, and Yin Yue. Works by Al Blackstone, Raja Feather Kelly and Christopher Williams complete the program. Sciscione will perform his solo work and Ofer Pelz his original composition at all performances. Tickets are $25 for Adults and $20 for Students and Groups of 10 or more through 10HL.org.

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) in association with Rebel Playhouse is thrilled to present the World Premiere of LOUDMOUTH, a new devised show for young audiences, directed by Suzannah Gratz and Clara Kundin with choreography by Phoebe Rose Sandford, at The Tank's new home at 312 West 36th Street. Performances will be Today, November 16 at 6:30pm, Friday, November 17 at 6:30pm, Saturday, November 18 at 10am, and Sunday, November 19 at 2pm. Weekend shows will be followed by an optional workshop for kids. Tickets ($30 for adults; $20 for children) are available for advance purchase at www.thetanknyc.org.

Public Theater's Mobile Unit to Bring ROMEO & JULIET to New York's Boroughs

Continuing its commitment to bringing free Shakespeare to the community and strengthening audience engagement with the arts, The Public Theater will mount its MOBILE UNIT again this March with a free three-week tour to the five boroughs of Shakespeare's ROMEO & JULIET, directed by Lear deBessonet. As part of Artistic Director Oskar Eustis' 10th Anniversary season, the free Mobile Unit tour (March 18 - April 9) will bring Shakespeare to audiences who have limited or no access to the arts by visiting correctional facilities, homeless shelters, social service organizations, and other community venues. Following the free tour, ROMEO & JULIET will have a sit-down run at The Public Theater from Monday, April 11 through Sunday, May 1, with an official press opening on Friday, April 15.
