THE 2nd ANNUAL NEW YORK HOT JAZZ FESTIVAL is set for The Players Club - 16 Gramercy Park South, Manhattan on Sunday, May 18 - 1:00pm to 1:00am.

“Face Value: Portraiture in the Age of Abstraction” will feature mid-20th century artists who were reinventing portraiture at a time when most agreed that figuration was dead as a progressive art form.

The chamber music concert co-presented with 92nd Street Y featuring The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Yefim Bronfman, originally scheduled for March 30, has been postponed to Friday, May 23, 2014, at 8:00 p.m. at 92nd Street Y at Mr. Bronfman's request, due to an unforeseen scheduling issue. Tickets originally issued for March 30 will be honored on May 23.

World-renowned composer and pianist Geri Allen presents 'A Conversation with Mary Lou: Geri Allen Celebrates Mary Lou Williams' a new music and spoken-word tribute to the legacy of jazz groundbreaker Mary Lou Williams. Featuring vocalist/actress Carmen Lundy, bassist Kenny Davis, drummer Kassa Overall. Directed by award-winning actress S. Epatha Merkerson ('Law & Order').

Yefim Bronfman, the New York Philharmonic's 2013-14 Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence, will be spotlighted in a chamber music concert co-presented with 92nd Street Y. Mr. Bronfman will be joined by Philharmonic Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow; Associate Principal Clarinet Mark Nuccio, replacing Principal Clarinet Stephen Williamson; Associate Principal, Second Violin Group, Lisa Kim; Associate Principal Viola Rebecca Young; and cellist Maria Kitsopoulos for the program, featuring Schubert's Sonatina in A minor; Bartok's Contrasts for Violin, Clarinet, and Piano; and Brahms's Piano Quintet, Sunday, March 30, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at 92nd Street Y.

The Little Orchestra Society is reaching out to fellow New Yorkers to help craft its new name. Long time fans of the Orchestra and new enthusiasts alike will have the opportunity to submit their favorite names for an institution beloved by generations of concert-goers. Responding to audience demand, Synetic Theater has added two performances to the run of their 10th 'silent Shakespeare' Adaptation, Twelfth Night, January 9 - February 16, 2014. Regular performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. The two additional Saturday performances will take place on February 8 and 15 at 2 p.m.

Bay Area Cabaret celebrates the New Year by welcoming back Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist/vocalist John Pizzarelli and Broadway actress/singer Jessica Molaskey. The charming husband and wife duo will perform their critically acclaimed Cafe Carlyle show This Must Be the Place, which The New York Times called, 'brilliant,' praising Ms. Molaskey as 'a singer whose radar yields infallible insight into a song's emotional crosscurrents.'
