Newnan Theatre Company is carrying on with its Halloween 'Month of Terror' schedule by presenting Steven Deitz's Dracula, opening tonight, October 22, and running thru Nov. 1.

As the days grow shorter and lower temperatures bring a nip to the air, Hedgerow Theatre's annual autumn thriller will also deliver chills up the spine as it present the classic Dracula from tonight, October 22 through November 22.

NTC is doing a special Halloween Night presentation beginning at 10 pm and ending after midnight of All Hallow's Eve, so everyone can do their trick-or-treating and then come see the show.

That same spirit of curiosity, discovery, informality and playfulness fills the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., as Pacific Symphony launches its 2015-16 Family Musical Mornings season, sponsored by Farmers & Merchants Bank, with “Phantoms of the Orchestra.” This Halloween-themed concert features the orchestra, under the direction of its new assistant conductor, Roger Kalia, joined by the renowned Magic Circle Mime Company (MCMCo). While the Symphony brings the music to life, the story is told by MCMCo, one of the most popular and highly acclaimed family attractions in the nation. The company is consistently praised for its creativity, innovation, and theatricality.

Tickets for LA Opera's 30th Anniversary Season, featuring beloved classics, exciting fan favorites and invigorating new works, will go on sale to the general public this Sunday, June 28, at 10am. It's an interesting and unintentional coincidence: PETER PAN, which wrapped up Playhouse on the Square's Holiday Season, offered the younger set its first taste of transvestism, with musically gifted actresses alternating in the role of 'Peter' (talk about the incipience of gender confusion); now, as the New Year has begun, the older set has its exposure with Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien's THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. This isn't the first time Playhouse has allowed a cast and crew to indulge themselves in fishnet hose and makeup; I can recall previous performances of this guilty pleasure with the remarkable Mark Chambers (anyone who ever saw him 'strut his stuff' is not likely to forget his performance - 'boomers' who 'time warped' in the aisles still talk about it). I imagine that everyone involved in this production dived headfirst into their costume fittings with all the giddy zeal of children glamming it up at Halloween.

Plácido Domingo, LA Opera's Eli and Edythe Broad General Director, has announced the company's 2015/16 season. This will be the 30th season presented by the company, created by Mr. Domingo in collaboration with Richard Seaver Music Director James Conlon and President and CEOChristopher Koelsch. The company's 30th anniversary season will include six mainstage productions and two concerts at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, with a total of 40 performances taking place in that venue, as well as 13 performances presented elsewhere through the company's Off Grand initiative. The season will open onSeptember 12, 2015, and will run through June 19, 2016.
