Gallery New World Stages, located at 343 West 49th Street, will present THAT FACE: THE ART OF KEN FALLIN – Broadway, Hollywood & Wall Street. Curated by Bernard Stote, this exhibit will feature over 75 original works of Caricature Art of popular cultural icons from Broadway community, Hollywood, politics, and Wall Street. The work will be on exhibition from September 12th through December 31st, with a gala opening reception on September 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Opening reception will include a special raffle including a signed, limited edition art print of Book of Mormon by Mr. Fallin, as well as an open bar with food provided by a generous donation from Amarone Ristorante, and a live musical performance by Joshua Stephen Kartes (www.joshuastephenkartes.com).

Elisa Contemporary Art presents Monochromatic Vision. Nature inspired artwork in singular palettes. The exhibit opens September 6, 2013. It will run through October 20, 2013. The exhibit delves into nature-inspired images captured and created by six American artists. It travels from the frigid Icebergs in the Antarctic to the lush Palisades along the Hudson River in New York and rushing waterfalls in Kaua'i. The exhibited artists capture visions of flowers and fowl in a new light and using a range of diverse techniques and materials.
NPR's Ari Shapiro to Perform at BSO Gala, 9/7

Signaling the start of the social season, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will hold its annual Gala Concert on Saturday, September 7 at 8:30 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. This year's Gala will be led by BSO Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly. The concert features the band Pink Martini with vocalist Storm Large, who will collaborate with the BSO for an intoxicating mix of cabaret, samba, jazz and Hollywood musicals. National Public Radio's news correspondent Ari Shapiro, a frequent guest vocalist with Pink Martini, will perform.

The author of the new release GODless Environmentalism: The Failure of Environmental Protection and Our Hidden Power to Save the Planet combines two seemingly distant worlds and opposing realities. After leaving his Washington, DC law firm for the Holy Land and the Holy City of Jerusalem, author David Page spent an entire decade combing through Old-Testament-era manuscripts to reveal the truth about environmental protection. According to this author-of-faith, technical fixes without faith-based environmental stewardship simply have not worked, a religious stewardship element is the key to success in this complex policy area.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that lauded local singer/songwriter Jeremy Messersmith will launch the New Century Sessions, a new Minnesota music series giving artists a chance to not only play, but to share the evolution of their work. The series will run at the Trust's intimate New Century Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. The concert featuring Messersmith with Twin Cities band Cjell Cruze opening, is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.

Megan Mullally is a two-time Emmy-winning star of TV's Will & Grace, and recent star of Broadway's Young Frankenstein. On August 28 & 29 she returns to Provincetown by popular demand - for two shows only - after her sold-out Art House debut last summer. The five-time Grammy-winning San Francisco Girls Chorus will open its 2013-2014 35th anniversary season Sunday, November 3, 2013, at 7 pm at Marines' Memorial Theatre in San Francisco with a concert of music both French and French-inspired, conducted by new Music Director and Principal Conductor Valerie Sainte-Agathe. CBS Orders Fictional Female Secretary of State Series from Morgan Freeman & Barbara Hall

CBS has put their own project inspired by the former First Lady into development from Oscar winner Morgan Freeman and Barbara Hall, according to Deadline. To dodge any potential backlash, however, the drama will follow a fictionalized female Secretary of State - ala the 2012 Sigourney Weaver-led miniseries POLITICAL ANIMALS.
