Actress/writer/comedian NANCY REDMAN will once again join forces with director Austin Pendleton for the premiere of her one-woman show 'EMERGENCY A La Carte,' in which 'a comedian dies and finds that death is her toughest audience.' Two performances in the United Solo Theatre Festival, tonight, October 15 & November 17, both at 9 PM, at Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd St.

United Solo Festival Presents One Hundred Productions in Third Year, Now thru 11/18

The world's largest solo theatre festival, established in 2010 at Theatre ROW on 42nd Street in Manhattan, has grown to more than twice its original size. One hundred solo productions will be presented between today, October 11 and November 18, 2012, among them fifteen shows by artists who successfully performed at the United Solo Festival in the past.

THE BIRTHDAY PARTY to Open at Steppenwolf Theatre, Feb 3

Steppenwolf Theatre Company begins the new year with Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party, under the direction of ensemble member Austin Pendleton. The Birthday Party features ensemble members Ian Barford, Francis Guinan, Moira Harris and John Mahoney with Sophia Sinise (one actor is still to be announced). The Birthday Party begins previews January 24 (Opening night is February 3, 2013; Press performances are February 2 at 3pm and February 5 at 7:30pm) and runs through May 19 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Tickets ($20 - $78) go on sale November 16 at 11am (prices are subject to change).

United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival, doubled in size in the past three years. During the upcoming six?week run between October 11 and November 18, a variety of one hundred solo shows will perform at Theatre ROW on 42nd Street in New York. Performers come from all over the world, bringing stories in which they explore global and local issues, address universal dilemmas, and adapt classical literature in shows like "Medea's Got Some Issues," "The Picture of Dorian Gray," and "Vonnegut, Vonnegut."

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, has announced that acclaimed stage, screen and television actress Joely Richardson (bio below) has joined the cast of their upcoming production of Anton Chekhov's IVANOV, starring Ethan Hawke and directed by Austin Pendleton, which begins performances Wednesday, October 17 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) as the first show of the award-winning company's 45th Anniversary Season. Hawke, in the title role, and Richardson, who will play Anna, will be joined in IVANOV by Glenn Fitzgerald (Borkin), Roberta Maxwell (Zinaida), George Morfogen (Shabelsky), Juliet Rylance (Sasha), Jonathan Marc Sherman (Lvov) and Louis Zorich (Lebedev). IVANOV, which will have its official opening on Sunday, November 4, will play a limited engagement through Sunday, November 25. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, September 20.
