The poignant and provocative new musical, A Minister's Wife, makes its West Coast premiere at San Jose Rep today, June 20 - July 14, 2013. Based on George Bernard Shaw's well-known play Candida, this musical soars with its emotive and dazzling score by the award-winning composer of Adding Machine, Joshua Schmidt, and its beautiful lyrics by Jan Levy Tranen. The smart script by Austin Pendleton, a Tony-nominated director, actor and playwright, and graceful directing by the originator and award-winning director, Michael Halberstam, shape this musical into an adventurous evening of theatre. After a wildly successful workshop production, Daniel Neiden and Peter O'Connor will present AnTony Raymond's comedy Elsinore County. Performances will begin tonight, June 20 and will celebrate its opening on Monday, June 24, running through July 3 at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre (410 West 42 Street).

Mary-Arrchie Theater Co. has announced that on its 27th Anniversary, tonight, June 13, 2013 at 8 p.m. it will open a production of Austin Pendleton's Uncle Bob. It will run Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m.and Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $25. It will be mounted at Angel Island which is at 735 W. Sheridan in Chicago, Illinois. David Rogers, Broadway playwright who also wrote for television, opera and night clubs, and authored novels and short stories, died on Wednesday, June 5th in Westport, Conn. He was 85.

Casting is complete for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's Chicago-premiere production of Tribes by Nina Raine. Ensemble member Austin Pendleton directs a cast featuring ensemble members Alana Arenas, Francis Guinan and Molly Regan with Steve Haggard, Russell Harvard and Helen Sadler. The American premiere of Tribes was Off-Broadway at Barrow Street Theater in 2012, and also featured Harvard, alongside ensemble member Jeff Perry; Harvard was recently featured in the Mark Taper Forum production as well.

Village Green Productions has announced the return of THE BOOMERANG EFFECT, written by Matthew Leavitt, produced by Del Shores and directed by Damaso Rodriguz.
