The critically-acclaimed FURIOUS THEATRE COMPANY will present the second show of their 2013-2014 season, in association with, and direct from its critically-acclaimed run at the ARTISTS REPERTORY THEATRE in Portland, the rolling U.S. premiere of FOXFINDER written by Dawn King and directed by Damaso Rodriguez. FOXFINDER will feature Furious members, Sara Hennessey and Shawn Lee as well as Amanda Soden and Joshua Weinstein and will preview on Wednesday, January 8, Thursday, January 9 and Friday, January 10 at 8pm and will open on Saturday, January 11 at 8:00pm and run through Sunday, February 2 at the Pasadena Playhouse Carrie Hamilton Theatre, 39 S. El Molino Ave. in Pasadena.

Palo Alto Players follows up on its successful season premiere with the hilarious comedy of manners (without the manners!), God of Carnage. THE BOOMERANG EFFECT will mark the final production Mr. Rodriguez will direct in Los Angeles prior to his becoming Artistic Director of the Artists Repertory Theatre in Portland. A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, offers a free, one-night-only reading of SARAH RUHL's humorous and heartbreaking LATE: A COWBOY SONG on Wednesday, April 17, 7 pm, as part of its "Words Within" reading series at its Pasadena theatre. Directed by Susan Angelo and featuring A Noise Within resident artists, Ruhl's genre-defying ode to the contemporary cowboy pays homage to Frank Capra's iconic film It's a Wonderful Life. In her signature quirky style, the two-time Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright utilizes convention only to break with it, offering a meditation on the idiosyncrasies of American culture while challenging definitions of love, partnership, gender and tradition. The Chicago Times describes the work, which premiered in 2010, as "gentle and knowing" and "a play about all manner of uncertainties." The New City Chicago critic proclaimed, "I wouldn't be surprised if Late: A Cowboy Song quickly becomes a modern classic."

After six years of running a successful book club program, George Street Playhouse is expanding its literary offerings with a new series: LITCHAT. These pre-show discussions will be lead by the Playhouse's Director of Education, Jim Jack, and will focus on the play currently on stage, as well as the playwright, and related works of literature.

The new Broadway revival of The Heiress will play its final performance, having recouped its $3 million capitalization, tonight, February 9, at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre. The producers of the new Broadway revival of THE HEIRESS have just announced that the production will recoup its $3 million capitalization during the final week of performances. The final performance is on Saturday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. (note the new early curtain time) at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre (219 W. 48th St. NYC). THE HEIRESS will have played 27 previews and 117 regular performances.

The cast of Broadway's THE HEIRESS was increased by one at this past Saturday's matinee performance. Deep into the drama's second act, at perhaps the most climactic point of the show, an adorable three legged dog unexpectedly pranced onto the stage.

The producers of the new Broadway revival of THE HEIRESS have announced that the production will now play its final performance on Saturday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m. (note the new early curtain time). The previously scheduled Sunday, February 10 closing performance has been cancelled to enable Jessica Chastain, who plays the title character, to attend the BAFTA Awards (the British equivalent to the Academy Awards) where she is nominated for Best Actress on Sunday, February 10th in London. Ms. Chastain is nominated for an Academy Award and has already received Golden Globe and Critics Choice Awards for her performance in the film Zero Dark Thirty.
