The New School for Liberal Arts has announced the accomplished singer and actress Marni Nixon as its Fall 2007 Visiting Artist. Nixon's residence will kick off with a free public lecture, 'An Evening with Marni Nixon,' on her illustrious stage and film career on Thursday, September 27 at 6PM at The New School, Wollman Hall (65 West 11th Street, fifth floor). The lecture is free and open to the public.

A more complete headline would be: 'Wynton Marsalis and his Quartet played an incredible set. After intermission, the musical ambassador of New Orleans, Dr. John and The Lower 9-11 Band, were joined on stage by Ann Hampton Callaway, Catherine Russell, John Pizzarelli and the Queen of New Orleans Soul, Irma Thomas', but that wouldn't fit.
