Artists Rep begins its 30th Anniversary season with the World Premiere of Aaron Posner's And So It Goes…, directed by Posner. This quirky love letter to the human race flows from Kurt Vonnegut's first collection of short stories, Welcome to the Monkey House. The play, which won the 2007 Edgar Alan Poe Award for Best Mystery Play, will be the Houston professional premiere. Written by one of the most produced playwrights of our time, Steven Dietz, who is currently in residence at the University of Texas Austin, the play had its World Premiere at Arizona Theatre Company in a co-production with Pasadena Playhouse in 2006, and has since played throughout the country.

On hiatus from the AMC smash hit Mad Men, Vincent Kartheiser comes to the Bay Area to lead a vibrant cast in San Jose Rep's world premiere of the Jonathan Marc Feldman drama The Death of the Novel, directed by Rick Lombardo.The cast also includes Vaishnavi Sharma (Sheba), Patrick Jones, Zarah Mahler and Amy Pietz. Pietz is well-known to TV audiences for her roles in The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Burn Notice, Nip/Tuck, The Closer and Private Practice.

Dallas Theater Center kicks of its 2012-2013 season with the outrageous new comedy The Second City Does Dallas written specifically for Dallas by members of The Second City and directed by Matt Hovde. The worlds of Chicago and Dallas collide on DTC's stage in a satirical take on all that makes Dallas great (and not so great). It's a fully produced sketch comedy experience in a theatrical, no-holds-barred look at Big D. The Second City Does Dallas runs at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre tonight, August 29 - Sunday, September 30.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will launch the Fall portion of its 50th Anniversary Season with the critically acclaimed stage adaptation of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist by British playwright, author, and director, Neil Bartlett. The production begins on September 12, with several discounted Preview performances, and continues through Oct. 7 at The Shakespeare Theatre's Main Stage - the intimate F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre.
