Heather Ehlers' SPIN Plays United Solo Festival, 11/9 & 12

Heather Ehlers, long-time stage actress, will return to New York City with her solo work, SPIN, for two Encore performances at the 2012 United Solo Theatre Festival. SPIN played to sold out houses last year in Los Angeles and New York City. Performances are tonight, November 9 & the 12th at 9:00pm.

Joe Dowling Returns to Dublin's Abbey Theatre to Direct Frank McGuinness' THE DEAD, Beg. Dec 5

The world premiere production of the Frank McGuinness adaptation of James Joyce's The Dead has begun rehearsal at Dublin's Abbey Theatre, under the direction of former Abbey and current Guthrie Artistic Director Joe Dowling. The Dead will begin previews on December 5, will open December 11 and will play through January 19, 2013.

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces the second extension of Metamorphoses, based on the myths of Ovid from a translation by David Slavitt, written and directed by Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman, and produced in association with Arena Stage. The revival production, coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the Broadway production, is now playing through the holidays at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Due to Hurricane Sandy, the production team of MY FAIR LADY has lost valuable technical rehearsal time and experienced significant delays. Therefore, Arena Stage will be canceling the first preview performance of MY FAIR LADY this Friday, November 2. Performances of MY FAIR LADY will resume on Saturday, November 3 at 8:00 p.m. and continue throughout the week as originally scheduled.

Barrie's stirring, lyrical tale about the tricks of time, loss of innocence and eternal youth. Mark Blum Joins The New Group's THE GOOD MOTHER Off-Broadway, Now thru 12/22

Mark Blum has joined the cast of The New Group's The Good Mother, written by Francine Volpe and directed by Scott Elliott. He joins Darren Goldstein, Gretchen Mol, Alfredo Narciso and Eric Nelsen in the premiere of this new play, replacing the previously announced Bill Sage, who had to withdraw due to a scheduling conflict prior to start of rehearsals. Mark Blum's Broadway credits include Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Twelve Angry Men, A Thousand Clowns, Lost in Yonkers, and more. He has appeared previously at The New Group in Wallace Shawn and Allen Shawn's play/opera The Music Teacher, among others.
