Pulitzer Prize winning author, screenwriter and journalist Lawrence Wright's latest book, Thirteen Days in September, has been named one of the "Top 10 Books of 2014" by The New York Times, is #5 on Amazon.com's Editors' List of the Best Books of 2014, made NPR's list of "2014's Great Reads," as well as Entertainment Weekly's "10 Best Nonfiction Books of 2014" and Publisher's Weekly "10 Best Books of 2014."

The magic continues when one of L.A.'s most beloved and longest running shows, Smoke and Mirrors moves to the Odyssey Theatre on Jan. 17 through March 15. Created by and starring noted actor and lifetime member of the Magic Castle, Albie Selznick and co-produced with Ron Sossi, artistic director of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, the L.A. Times Critic's Choice smash hit directed by David Schweizer makes its debut in West L.A.

In Love And Warcraft, written by Madhuri Shekar and directed by NRTC Artistic Director Joshua Morgan, chronicles the hilarious happenings when the two worlds of online gaming and in person relationships collide on a college campus. Bowman Wright, last seen as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Arena Stage's The Mountaintop, will tackle the role of King in August Wilson's classic drama King Hedley II at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Wright joins the previously announced E. Faye Butler as Ruby. Under the direction of Timothy Douglas, King Hedley II runs February 6-March 8, 2015 in the Fichandler Stage.

The Muny announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for the Muny's 2015 Season, which opens on June 15 with My Fair Lady. The Geffen Playhouse announces the cast for its West Coast premiere production of Conor McPherson's The Night Alive, helmed by Geffen Playhouse Artistic Director Randall Arney. Due to popular demand, Arena Stage's current production of Fiddler on the Roof has been extended through January 11, 2015 with one added week of performances. This iconic musical, which celebrates its 50th anniversary, is helmed by Artistic Director Molly Smith, with choreography by Parker Esse and musical direction by Paul Sportelli. Fiddler on the Roof features Tony Award nominee Jonathan Hadary as Tevye and Ann Arvia as Golde. The production was originally scheduled to close on January 4 but will now continue through January 11.

Quintessence Theatre Group continues its fifth season of progressive classic theatre with Simon Reade's stage adaptation of Lewis Carroll's ALICE's ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND. Last Christmas Quintessence took you on an adventure across the English countryside and into the wild wood. This year we will venture down the rabbit hole. The play's afoot! Sherlock Holmes battles one of his greatest mysteries to date at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater in Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, a world-premiere adaptation from Tony Award-winning playwright Ludwig (Broadway's Lend Me a Tenor). Adapted from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved The Hound of the Baskervilles, this fast-paced comedic tale of murder, intrigue and a wild hound is directed by Amanda Dehnert (Arena Stage's The Fantasticks) as part of Arena Stage's 65th anniversary season. A co-production with McCarter Theatre Center, Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery runs January 16-February 22, 2015 in the Kreeger Theater.

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company today announced that Kate Baldwin would star in a rare revival of John & Jen, the musical with music by Andrew Lippa, lyrics by Tom Greenwald, and a book by Greenwald and Lippa. This production will include the premiere of a new song, "Trouble with Men." Additional casting and designers to be announced shortly.
