Celebrating 45 years since Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's seminal musical first hit the stage, Jesus Christ Superstar just opened at Regent's Park's Open Air Theatre, and already the production is eying the West End, according to the New York Post's Michael Riedel. He writes: 'I'm told Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice wouldn't mind a Broadway production either.'

Has it really been two decades since that definitive Lyceum production of Jesus Christ Superstar? Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's collaboration is in residence at the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre this summer, and it is a production the like of which I have never seen before. 

Celebrating 45 years since Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's seminal musical first hit the stage, Jesus Christ Superstar is directed by Artistic Director Timothy Sheader. With a legendary score which includes I Don't Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane and Superstar, musical direction is by Tom Deering (Wonder.land, In the Heights and The Color Purple), design by Tom Scutt (Constellations, Les Liaisons Dangereuses and King Charles III, for which he has received a Tony Award nomination) and choreography by Drew McOnie (Jekyll & Hyde, The Lorax and In The Heights, for which he won the Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreography).

After the huge success of the critically acclaimed Klook's Last Stand (The Park Theatre), writing duo Che Walker and Anoushka Lucas, bring the world premiere of their new play with music THE ETIENNE SISTERS to Theatre Royal Stratford East. This all-female cast features strong London talent, harmonising to a fresh and contemporary soulful jazz score. Scroll down for a first look at the stars onstage!

Opening the programme in the Park200 is Charles Court's production of the seldom performed Rogers/Sondheim musical Do I Hear A Waltz?. The seasons continues with Engine House's production of Bomber's Moon, written by celebrated screenwriter William Ivory (Made in Dagenham, Burton and Taylor), and is completed by the world premiere of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, a tale of revenge set in the Wild West, adapted by Jethro Compton from the short story by Dorothy M. Johnson.
