Reports are circulating that William Gibson's classic, THE MIRACLE WORKER, will get a Broadway resurrection in the near future at the hands of Finnian's Rainbow producer David Richenthal.

On Friday October 2, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts will be celebrating a milestone birthday with many alumni, friends and supporters.

Silver-screen wit collides with behind-the-scenes lunacy in Once in a Lifetime, George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's classic screwball spoof of Hollywood. Edward Asner and Jonathan Silverman head the cast when L.A. Theatre Works records five performances for radio broadcast, directed by the co-author's multiple award-winning son, Christopher Hart, at the Skirball Cultural Center October 21- 25. L.A. Theatre Works' nationally syndicated radio theater series airs weekly, broadcasting locally in Southern California on KPCC 89.3 and streaming on demand at www.latw.org.

Broadway In Chicago is excited to announce Tony Award winners Roger Bart and Shuler Hensley will reprise the roles of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein and The Monster in the first national tour of The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein. The Chicago engagement will play the Cadillac Palace Theatre for a limited six week engagement November 3 - December 13, 2009.

Best known as a creator of broad film farces and uproarious parodies, jack-of-all-trades Mel Brooks has been entertaining audiences for years with his wacky and absurdist humor. Now just in time for the holidays, the king of comedy's brilliant work is available for the first time in high definition in The Mel Brooks Collection on Blu-ray Disc, debuting December 15 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

It was first produced as a 1957 Playhouse 90 broadcast starring Teresa Wright as Annie Sullivan and Patricia McCormack as Helen. Gibson adapted his teleplay for a 1959 Broadway production with Anne Bancroft as Sullivan and Patty Duke as Keller. The two reprised their roles for the award winning1962 feature film, directed by Arthur Penn.

The Hansberry Project at ACT presents a benefit reading of Lorraine Hansberry's The Sign In Sidney Brustein's Window, Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 7:30 p.m., in the Bullitt Cabaret at ACT Theatre. Tickets are $25. Funds raised support ongoing development of Hansberry projects and new works.

Acclaimed stage and screen actor, Ben Hammer, will pay Cape May Stage Audiences a welcome visit in the award-winning Visiting Mr. Green by popular playwright Jeff Baron.
