Regina Taylor -- best known to television audiences for her starring role in the critically acclaimed series 'I'll Fly Away' and the first African-American woman to play Juliet in 'Romeo and Juliet' on Broadway -- will discuss her work in TV, theatre and film Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Northwestern University.

On June 26, 2009, The Princess Grace Foundation-USA hosted a special benefit performance of Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of Up, written by Princess Grace Awards winner Bridget Carpenter (Playwriting, 1997) and directed by Princess Grace Awards winner Anna D. Shapiro (Directing, 1996).

The 16th Annual Merritt Award for Excellence in Design and Collaboration program, honoring world class scenic designer Todd Rosenthal (August: Osage County), will take place on Monday, April 27, at the Steppenwolf Merle Reskin Garage Theatre. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a viewing of the third annual ?Theater Design Expo' showcasing the works of over 20 Chicago-area emerging theatrical designers and a student portfolio review. Martha Lavey, Artistic Director of Steppenwolf Theatre Company, will moderate an inclusive discussion, 'Moving Chicago Productions to New York and Beyond' with the awardees, Director Anna Shapiro and Joshua Schmidt, composer and librettist, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Emmy Award winning talk show host and author Dick Cavett will moderate an ?intimate conversation? between Academy Award-winning actress Estelle Parsons and recent Princess Grace Award-winning artist, Toccarra Cash (Theater, 2007) at a cocktail reception to benefit The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA). The discussion will explore the path to a successful career in the arts. Estelle Parsons is currently starring in the Tony Award-winning play August: Osage County on Broadway in the role of Violet Weston, directed by Tony Award winner Anna Shapiro, also a Princess Grace Award winner (1996, Theater/Directing). PGF-USA is a public charity that supports emerging artists in theater, dance and film through scholarships, apprenticeships and fellowships.

Abingdon Theatre Company has announced that it will present the world premiere of Romulus Linney's LOVE DRUNK, directed by Kelly Morgan and featuring Austin Pendleton and Kristina Valada-Viars on March 28, 2009. The official opening will be on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 5:00 PM in the Abingdon Theatre Company's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre.

Ian McShane (The Homecoming) and his wife Gwen McShane welcomed the 'other dysfunctional family' back to the boards last night at August: Osage County.

The Homecoming star Michael McKean paid a visit to the cast of August: Osage County following the Saturday performance on November 3, with wife, actress Annette O'Toole ('Smallville').
