More than 25 nominations of outstanding actors, directors, designers and ensembles were announced today by The Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA), with winners to be revealed at the 34th Annual Elliot Norton Awards on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 7 PM, at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre.

How many of these great songs do you know from underappreciated musicals?

Anything Goes. Oklahoma. Follies. La Cage Aux Folles. Those four musicals, plus many others, all got their start at Boston's important Colonial Theatre. Now, as the Colonial is in danger of shutting it doors, Feinstein's/54 Below celebrated the famed venue with an evening of songs and stories last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Among this year's nominees for Outstanding Musical Production by a Large Theater are WAITRESS and NATASHA, PIERRE, AND THE  GREAT COMET OF 1812, both at American Repertory Theatre. Tony winner Jessie Mueller and Denee Benton also each received nods for their respective performances.

Legendary director Hal Prince, writers Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, and others have contributed anecdotes and memories to be read during  Feinstein's/54 Below star studded tribute to Boston's Colonial Theatre, which will take place on April 19th & 20th, 2016, at 9:30pm.

The Colony Hotel - which The Palm Beach Post has hailed as "probably the best place for cabaret on the planet" - is doing something completely different this year. For the first time in the 15-year history of the Royal Room, the world famous cabaret will not close at the end of "season" but will continue offering extraordinary entertainers straight-through the summer months with dinner shows every Friday and Saturday night.

This April, Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond.

At a ceremony held earlier this week in New York, the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs announced the winners of the 2016 MAC Awards. A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Amanda McBroom. Also honored with a Board of Directors award was Maryann Lopinto. Jamie deRoy received the Ruth Kurtzman Benefit Award on behalf of her work with The Actors Fund: Jamie deRoy & Friends Cabaret Initiative. Sally Darling received the Hanson Award. The show was produced by Julie Miller and directed by Lennie Watts, with musical direction by Matt Baker.

Joe Iconis (Be More Chill), Jim Brochu (Zero Hour), Rebecca Eichenberger (The Phantom of the Opera), Andrew Leggieri (The Bandstand), and Ryan Scott Oliver & Lindsay Mendez's Actor's Therapy NYC have joined Feinstein's/54 Below star studded tribute to Boston's Colonial Theatre, which will take place on April 19th & 20th, 2016, at 9:30pm.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was delighted to welcome Natalie Douglas back to her musical home for the thirty-ninth time on Monday, March 21 with a concert celebrating her new CD, 'Human Heart.' BroadwayWorld has photos from the concert below!

Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents 54 Celebrates the Colonial Theatre on April 19th & 20th, 2016, at 9:30pm. The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) today announced the nominees for the 20th Annual IRNE Awards, which honors the best of the previous year's actors, directors, choreographers, designers and companies across the full spectrum of large, mid-size and fringe theater companies.

Last night was the world premiere of Anita Gillette and Penny Fuller's new show SIN TWISTERS, TOO! at Feinstein's 54 Below. It attracted a celebrity audience and BroadwayWorld was there TOO.
