The Jeff Awards announced today that Steve Scott will be presented with a Special Jeff Award at the Equity awards ceremony to be held on November 6th at Drury Lane Oakbrook. Mr. Scott will be honored for his career achievements that have inspired artistic collaboration, educational outreach and demonstrated dramatic creativity for more than 37 years.

By turns terrifying, moving and wildly funny, The Room is Pinter's very first play. Rose prefers to stay in, safe from the hostile world outside, but her seemingly cozy sanctuary is continually being invaded. With visits from the landlord, a couple in search of their own space, a stranger and the return of her husband, it becomes increasingly unclear whether the menace comes from within or without. The Room is a precarious examination of private fears vs. social fears, as seen through the lens of the working class.

A Red Orchid Theatre begins its 2016-2017 Season with The Room by Harold Pinter, directed by Ensemble Member Dadoand featuring Ensemble Members Kirsten Fitzgerald and Mierka Girten. International Voices Project (IVP) is proud to present the sixth season of play readings by playwrights from around the world. The series is presented in collaboration with consulates and cultural institutions throughout Chicago. The 2015 engagement's represented countries include India, Canada, Sweden, Cuba, Syria, Norway, Poland and Chile.
