A celebrated live performer; stage, film and television actress; best-selling author; recording artist and Emmy-nominated producer, she triumphs in every medium.Born to Judy Garland and producer Sid Luft, music and entertainment were part of her childhood. At age 11, she made her television debut singing on her mother's series, 'The Judy Garland Show.' At 16, already a seasoned performer, she shared the bill with her mother on Broadway in a month long concert engagement at New York's Palace Theater. I had the chance to chat with Ms. Luft as she was preparing for her upcoming engagement in the desert. Her are some excerpts from the conversation:

In the years since the release of her critically acclaimed third album, Perfect Animal, Stevens has undertaken a journey that began with a study of Queen Elizabeth I as inspiration for a commission to write a concert of new music, which expanded into tributes to various queens from history, literature, folklore and her own imagination. The result is a collection of songs inspired by the regal and divine, and finally Regina as a voice, like a trusted friend or an alter ego.

The Idea Fund will host a celebratory reception for the twelve Round 9 grant recipients at 6:30 p.m., Jan. 24, at Aurora Picture Show.

BRIC is pleased to welcome Swedish psychedelic rock outfit Dungen to BRIC House on March 16 for two performances. At this show, they'll perform their dazzling original score to the 1926 film The Adventures of Prince Achmed. Weaving music into the storytelling seamlessly, Dungen grabs at jazz, folk, and classical influences, taking you on journey through what is understood to be the oldest surviving animated film.

This is the first U.S. survey to encompass Stephen Shore's career in photography, from the gelatin silver prints he made as a teenager to his current engagement with digital platforms.

Only in Your Way is the first collaborative two-person exhibition between New York-based artists Kate Gilmore and Heather Rowe. The exhibition includes newly commissioned, site-specific sculptural works, installation, and a live durational performance.

What does it mean to be radical? InterAct Theatre Company presents a vision of two of America's wildest activist leaders, Marcus Garvey and Emma Goldman, in Mary Tuomanen's poignant, twisted, and darkly funny MARCUS/EMMA.  This gripping play could not be more relevant, challenging the audience to relate Garvey's and Goldman's subversive ideas surrounding tensions of race, gender, sexuality, culture, capitalism and socialism to our current political climate.  Tuomanen's voice is fresh and exciting -- a luminary in Philadelphia's arts scene, she was recently rated Best Theatre Talent 2015, by Philadelphia Magazine.
