VAULT Creative Arts, the charity behind VAULT Festival, have announced the closure of VAULT Festival and the cancellation of plans for their new London home, after failing to secure the funding required to continue. 

Making their highly anticipated comeback, the creators of the UK's leading independent festival of live performance VAULT, have announced they are building a brand-new venue in the heart of London and that VAULT Festival will return in autumn 2024.

VAULT announces their first fundraising gala, VAULT Gala: Light at the End of the Tunnel, to raise funds for their new central London venue. The gala will feature a drink reception, three-course meal, auction, and performances by top comedians and artists. Help support VAULT's new home by attending the gala.

Making their highly anticipated comeback, the creators of the UK's leading independent festival of live performance VAULT, have announced they are building a brand-new venue in the heart of London and that VAULT Festival will return in autumn 2024. 

VAULT Festival marked the end of its decade-long run at its original venue, The Vaults on Sunday 19th March, bringing to a close a record-breaking year which welcomed more than 81,000 audience members throughout its eight week run.

Following its triumphant return for the first time since the pandemic, VAULT Festival, the UK’s leading festival of live performance, has been advised by its venue-landlord, The Vaults, that it must find a new home for future festivals.

BroadwayWorld UK had the chance to sit down and chat with Andy George, the VAULT Festival director and co-founder, about the festival and what it is like to create such an inclusive event with a programme of over 500 performances!

Running from 24th January – 19th March 2023 in venues across Waterloo, the programme features over 500 of the best theatre, comedy, cabaret and late-night shows from some of the brightest talents across the live performance industry.

The 10th anniversary festival may not be going ahead, but that doesn't mean no more VAULT Festival.  VAULT Creative Studios is VAULT Festival's brand-new programme of opportunities for artists and freelancers affected by the cancellation of 2022's Festival. 

VAULT Creative Arts have made the decision to cancel the 2022 VAULT Festival.  Since the emergence of the Omicron variant, the team have been exploring options to allow them to deliver the tenth anniversary Festival safely and successfully but all of these were found to put staff and artists at risk.

The festival will feature over 600 shows of the best new theatre, comedy, immersive experiences, cabaret, live performance, and late-night events from the UK’s brightest and boldest independent artists.

VAULT Festival have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the next full, live version of VAULT Festival until 2022.

Born and based in the UK, producer, remixer and DJ Louis La Roche has released his collaborative album, Saturday Night Griever on 27 March via Ever After Records.

Following the announcement by the Prime Minister urging the general public not to visit 'pubs, clubs, or theatres', VAULT Festival has announced that it will not be opening its doors for its final week (Tuesday 17th - Sunday 22nd March) and will be closing with immediate effect. 

The fastest growing arts festival in the UK, VAULT Festival 2020 is back from Tuesday 28th January with its biggest ever edition across eight packed weeks. With more than 500 shows now on sale, the bold and innovative programme will feature shows from more than 2,700 artists, with 64% of work being female-led, 33% and 25% of work from LGBTQ+ and BAME artists respectively.
