HAMILTON National Tour Coming to Denver During 2017-18 Season

The national tour of the Broadway musical HAMILTON will play the Buell Theatre as part of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts' 2017/18 Broadway subscription series, it was announced today by producer Jeffrey Seller and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, HAMILTON leading man Lin-Manuel Miranda will be exiting the show on July 9 to focus on his upcoming projects, including the starring role in Disney's MARY POPPINS opposite Emily Blunt. In a Heatstreet report last month, it was speculated that he will be replaced by his current alternate, Javier Muñoz, who steps in for Miranda on Sunday matinees.
It appears that the rumors are true, because now they've been confirmed by Miranda himself. He told Washington Post reviewer Peter Marks:

While the Tony Awards dedicated Sunday night's broadcast to the victim's of the Orlando shooting, others have been sending support and voicing concern and outrage over the horrible incident. At today's performance of #Ham4Ham, which drew record-breaking crowds, Lin-Manuel Miranda welcomed Andrea Burns to honor the victims with a rendition of 'What I Did For Love.'
