Aaron Sorkin will make his foray into big screen directing with a biopic about former presidential candidate John Edwards, inspired by the recently released tell-all The Politician, deadline.com reports. Sorkin will also adapt the screenplay from Andrew Young's book and produce the film.

The Seventh Annual Langston Hughes African American Film Festival will end its run April 25. The festival featured a full schedule of events including the Genie Award-winning film, 'Nurse.Fighter.Boy', appearances by filmmakers including Altrick Brown, Ava DuVernay, Charles Officer, and Morgan Stiff, the Seattle Premiere of 'Soundtrack for a Revolution' and 'Mississippi Damned', a Family Friday, and a filmmaking workshop. The film festival is expected to draw over 2,500 people who are passionate about creating and appreciating films for the Black community. The Festival is run by community volunteers under the Direction of Jacqueline Moscou, Langston Hughes' Artistic Director.

This year, due to the planned seismic and electrical upgrades of the historic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center facility in Seattle's Central District, Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center (LHPAC) will host its Seventh Annual African American Film Festival at a variety of new venues, The Cinerama will host the opening night screening.

Broadway takes center stage in the hilarious spoof, 'The Musical of Musicals: The Musical,' coming to Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. The Pennington Players presents this affectionate satire on Fridays, Aug. 14 and 21 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Aug. 15 and 22 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Aug. 16 and 23 at 2 p.m.

Cheng/Ferrara Productions explores the nightmarish underbelly of the American dream in 'Assassins' at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. Dates and show times for this Tony Award winning musical are: Fridays, July 24 and 31 at 8 p.m., Saturdays, July 25 and Aug. 1 at 8 p.m., and Sundays, July 26 and Aug. 2 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on July 24.

Acclaimed actress and performer Glenn Close addressed the Savannah College of Art and Design graduating class of 2009 at commencement ceremonies in Savannah and Atlanta, May 30. Close spoke to graduates at SCAD's 29th Savannah commencement ceremony, 9 a.m., at the Savannah Civic Center, 301 W. Oglethorpe Ave. She then addressed graduates at SCAD-Atlanta's third commencement ceremony at the Georgia World Congress Center (Sidney Marcus Auditorium, Building A), 285 Andrew Young International Blvd. N.W.
