Jackalope Theatre Company, the Edgewater-based theatre company currently in its 7th season, announced today new leadership and redefined roles within the company. Current artistic director and founding member AJ Ware will step down from her position, as the company enters a new phase of artistic and financial growth. AJ assumes the role of a company member, and remains integral towards Jackalope's future art-making. Jackalope founding member and director of the acclaimed Exit Strategy , Gus Menary, will succeed AJ Ware, as interim artistic director. Jackalope is currently conducting a search for a new permanent artistic director.

On the heals of its hit musical production Titanic, Griffin Theatre Company continues its 2014-15 season with Lanford Wilson's acclaimed drama BALM IN GILEAD directed by ensemble member Jonathan Berry and featuring an ensemble cast of 27 actors and musicians. Jackalope Theatre Company presents the 5th Annual Living Newspapers Festival. In homage to the 1930's Living Newspapers of the Federal Theatre Project, Jackalope has assembled an exciting group of Chicago playwrights, directors, and actors to dramatize stories ripped from recent newspaper headlines. Presented for a One-Weekend limited engagement at The Frontier, 1106 W. Thorndale Ave, the show will run August 20-24, today - Sunday at 8:00pm.
