LA Chamber Orchestra Announces 2014-15 Season; Jeffrey Kahane Named Music Director Laureate

Esteemed and much beloved Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra Music Director Jeffrey Kahane will be named Music Director Laureate at the conclusion of the 2016-17 season when he steps down from the Orchestra's artistic helm in three years following an unprecedented 20-year tenure, announced LACO President K. Eugene Shutler. Kahane will become the first Music Director Laureate in the Orchestra's history when he assumes the newly established post in recognition of his great contributions to the Orchestra.

The Celebrity Series of Boston Announces 2014-2015 Season

The Celebrity Series of Boston announced its 2014-2015 season today, marking 76 years of bringing the world's greatest performing artists to Boston. The season opens on Sunday, October 5, 2014 with Italian pianist Maurizio Pollini in recital. In total, the 2014-2015 season will include 46 music, dance and entertainment engagements. The 2014-15 season is sponsored by Amy and Joshua Boger.

Utah Symphony Announces Mighty 5 Open-Air Concert Tour, 8/11-17

The Utah Symphony led by Music Director Thierry Fischer will tour Utah's red rock country, home to the state's five iconic national parks, in August 2014 with free outdoor performances surrounded by the landscape of Capitol Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. Presented by the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation, The Mighty 5® Tour represents a collaboration between two of Utah's great treasures, the state's leading arts organization, Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, and the unparalleled natural beauty of Utah's red rock country preserved within the five national parks, collectively known as "The Mighty 5."

Utah Symphony Postpones World Premiere of Andrew Norman's Percussion Concierto

The Utah Symphony has announced a change to the program scheduled for April 18-19 at Abravanel Hall. The world premiere of Andrew Norman's percussion concerto has been postponed to November 6-7, 2015.

MATA Festival turns sixteen with its largest and most ambitious installment yet: seven days of musical discovery, Monday, April 14 to Monday, April 21. Curated by Outgoing Artistic Director Yotam Haber, MATA Festival 2014 includes works by 34 composers from seventeen countries, all under 40 when they applied. They were chosen from more than 650 applicants, representing 64 countries.
