NYMF Festival Announces 2009 Next Link Project Selections

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the selections for the 2009 Next Link Project. Twelve of the Festival?s full production slots are reserved for participants in The Next Link Project, NYMF?s primary writer service program. The Next Link Project empowers emerging musical theatre writing teams as both artists and entrepreneurs by providing the training and relationships needed to help them move their musicals from mere readings to fully-realized productions and to advance their careers by maximizing the exposure they receive in the Festival.

Andrew Kato, the Artistic Director of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, announced the 2009/2010 limited engagement lineup to include old favorites such as John Pizzarelli and Capitol Steps and new classics like The Beatle Maniacs and Forbidden Broadway. The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is proud to announce that its hit production, Evita, completely sold out the entire run of the show! Ending the record-breaking season for the Theatre, this production sold over 13,000 seats and became the highest grossing musical in the Theatre's history.

Maltz Jupiter Receives 8 Carbonell Noms For THE FULL MONTY

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is excited to announce that the Theatre received eight Carbonell nominations for its 2008 production The Full Monty, including Best Musical. Other nominations include Alan Souza for Best Director, Gavin Lodge for Best Actor, Mimi Hines for Best Supporting Actress, Helen Gregory for Best Musical Direction, Ron DeJesus for Best Choreography, Michael Philippi for Best Scenic Design and Donald Thomas for Best Lighting Design.

'Academy' tells the story of a prestigious prep school, where two senior boys make a bet involving an unsuspecting naïve freshman. But when the Faustian bargain goes too far, they realize their lives will never be the same again. With a 40-piece youth orchestra under the direction of Palm Beach Music Center and a mass choir under the direction of Young Singers of the Palm Beaches, Academy is a hymn to the journey many boys must traverse from childhood to manhood.
